A very important topic and reminder, thank youuuu. Love that this means all bisexuals are Virgoes (/Libra cusp actually!!!).

Also love these rules from the webring website:

Quote
rules:

    be bisexual
    have a website.

In the last few years I've been dating a bit, and I was really surprised by how quickly people called me 'a lesbian' when I was dating a woman (surprised but honoured; lesbian is an identity with a really specific and radical history), but it just wasn't true! I would have to keep repeating 'I'm bi actually'. Now I've decided to lean into the absurdity --> I'm dating a man for the first time in a long time, and am very visibly queer, and I like to tell people "I'm straight now" with the most serious tone I can muster.

Bi Visibility Day? Ok: Look at me! I'm bisexual!

I have gone through various phases of identity, denying that I am bisexual because I felt that others wouldn't take me seriously, or worrying they'd misunderstand me based on stereotypes... but I was naive.

Now I know that being bisexual is awesome. Other people's ignorance is their own problem; I'll be over here enjoying my big bi life.

Waving at all my fellow awesome bisexuals. I see you.  :eyes:

happy bi day!
i remember being perfectly fine with my bisexuality at 7yo, but as i reached 16 - some internalized biphobia did catch me after all. i felt like i had to "choose" one of the options (no matter which one exactly lol).
now i'm enjoying being myself again  :transport:

My experience is pretty similar (being raised in a biphobic household and being assumed and almost expected by my folks to be straight and ONLY into guys even to this very day didn't help) and it took me until the age of 16 1/2 and at the very end of my junior year of high school for me to finally admit to myself after many years of denial, lies, and repression that I was actually bisexual, not "straight" or "confused" or anything else I had been telling myself and others (including my closest friends) up until then that I knew deep down wasn't true. And it took longer for me to stop worrying about what other people (including other LGBTQ+ people) would think of me when I finally started coming out to them.

Unfortunately, from what I've been reading on the internet, this does seem to be quite a common experience within our community. :(
