The 1994 Street Fighter movie is such a wonderfully campy mess of a film and I can't help but love it. Raul Julia as M. Bison is such a joy to watch

"FOR I BEHELD SATAN AS HE FELL FROM HEAVEN. LIKE LIGHTNIIIIIIIIING!!!!!!!"

This is mine too. The story behind how it was made (and nearly not made) is incredible. Raul Julia's M. Bison is canon in my mind.

"For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was a Tuesday."

Absolutely the Resident Evil series. I'm sure some people enjoy them as actually good movies, and I would say the first one is -- but beyond that they're kinda dogshit. Thats okay though because they have a very special place in my heart. I own them all on DVD and it's the best investment ive ever made (5 dollars from thrift store lol).

Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler. It had shitty animation and the ending is trash but i like it regardless. Must be cause I find the idea of goku and vegeta facing a broken killing machine cool as hell. I also like metal cooler too

I love the Shaw Brothers "classic" The Battle Wizard from 1977.

It starts with one of our heroes using lasers to cut off the legs of some guy. Then it gets more insane from there. It is only 77 minutes long with credits so its a quick watch.

I personally would recommend the dub rather than subtitles as it is also quite bad it will add to the experience.

when i was a kid, one of my favorite movies was Doogal, the american english gag dub of the british animated film adaptation of the children’s show The Magic Roundabout. i didn’t care at the time that the movie was chock full of celebrities spouting pop culture references and banal jokes that i didn’t get; i just wanted to watch the cute animals saving the world, man

nowadays i feel nothing for that movie. so now, the movie that fits this criteria for me is… the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. is it cheesy 90s kid’s movie camp? absolutely. is it still a fun time? also absolutely

Godzilla King of the Monsters 2019... It sucks so bad but man Id be lying if I said I didnt get excited anytime one of the kaiju shows up. Maybe even comfort film level Im not sure yet. I begged my parents to take me to see it in theaters TWICE and its the reason I even got hyperfixated on Godzilla movies. Maybe not the best film ever made but man did I love it

Wishmaster is my absolute love right now. :chef:

It's a movie concept people would not like: a slasher genie movie. Not only that, this was released in the mid 90s,when Scream came out and everyone wanted more self-aware horror instead of goofy horror like Wishmaster. Even when you look back to that era, all you going to remember is Scream dominating pop culture.(which I understand.)

But look for me, watching this small gem( :dot: ) of a movie, it really reminded me the other side of horror I love: cheesy fun! There's decent melodrama with an interesting main character, I love the humor, The Djinn himself is a creative horror villain, and omg the practical effects are amazing and you can tell people were having fun with it.

Plus there's so many cool easter eggs in it too of horror stars as well. Both in front and behind the camera. I just really love nerding out to Wishmaster. Not a big fan of Wishmaster 2 personally, and I probably won't watch the sequels either but the first movie will always be one of my faves.

Postal Movie. Based off postal 2 but its somehow 10x more insane. Its so disgustingly of its time I LOVE IT.
watched this recently. as a fan of the postal series (ofc with postal 2 being my favorite) this was certifiably both a shitty movie but definitely a brilliant watch.  :dot:  :dot:  :dot:

I am actually a huge fan of collecting and thrifting movies like this. I enjoy watching them with friends with a drink or 2, making fun of the movie throughout the whole thing XD.

I have seen some incredible recommendations but here are mine that I havent seen posted yet:
- Swamp zombies (they recycle actors using different costumes but its very confusing)
- Black dynamite
- The old live action super mario movie: super mario bros (1993) which is somehow cyberpunk??
- Ghost lake (truly lost the plot in this one, more plot hooks than it made sense)
- Teeth -not talking about this one, very weird.
- Rubber (weirdest one I have seen. About a sentient car tire with telekinetic powers, that it uses only for making people explode)

Here's one of my favourite "bad" movies too! (im not sure if id call it bad if i enjoy my time with it  :cheesy: )

The transformers the movie from 1986, this one's weirdness comes from the fact that a bunch characters die in the first third of the movie, and they are all named, beloved characters who all got to have the spotlight in at least one episode of the first transformers show! The rest of the movie is kinda just standard 'generation 1' transformers fair, but in space, which is to say; just some good, silly fun, especially if you are even halfway familiar with transformers ^^

Omg I love that movie, I had it since i was a child. The story makes no sense but its some of the most amazing eye candy animations i have ever seen. I also watched it several times while having consumed a certain in my country legal type of fungus, can recommend (the movie i mean)

There's this bizarre dark fantasy/horror film called Wishmaster, which is about an evil genie. Yeah, it's a horror movie about a trickster genie, you read that right.

The thing about this film, and the reason I love it so much, is it's sort of Evil Dead 2 scenario but even more unhinged somehow

The script is god-awful. The director knew this, and instead of trying to get a better script for it, he just leaned into the camp and made it a zany horror-comedy. This movie is both incredibly well-made from a directorial standpoint, and has some of the best practical effects I've ever seen in a film. It's also stupid as hell and I love it!

The genie speaks like someone's edgy OC. The only way the genie can kill anyone is by tricking them into revealing some sort of desire (even if said "desire" is just how they worded something) and then ofc interprets it in the worst way possible. There's a point where some cool-looking bouncer guy (who was JUST introduced) says "My name's Valentine. Johnny Valentine." and then the genie asks "Wouldn't you like to escape?" and basically he's like "Pfft yeah sure buddy, wouldn't we all" and then the genie traps him in a Houdini tank and he drowns, we never see him again. Towards the end, the genie ends a sentence with ", baby!" even though it's completely out of character and sounds awkward as hell coming out of the actors mouth because of the voice he does for the genie (although I have no clue if the person in the costume is the same person doing the voice, I'd imagine it isn't though). The movie also starts with a scene that looks like it cost the movie's entire budget, but it doesn't really get toned down over the course of them film that much, bc the director was a special effects makeup artist so he managed to pull some strings to make this movie really visually impressive for it's budget

I'd give it a watch if you just wanna watch something unhinged and funny lol, and again it's surprisingly well-directed and the director clearly knew what he was doing
