Favorite Band/Music Reccomendations?

I was listening to my legally  acquired mp3s of music, and i wanted some opinions on what Songs and Bands you humans listen to :)

Do you want to hear what people enjoy, or do you want recommendations based on your taste? I ask, because if the second, you might want to adjust your title :).

I love the Meat Puppets, and seeing what you enjoy, it might be worth a listen.

Other than that, I love Kay Gardner (American esoteric women music composer), Pearls before Swine/Tom Rapp (LSD-heavy acid Folk), the Incredible String Band, English Folk Music in general (Shirley Collins, The Watersons, currently listeing to "The Derby Ram" sung by Loyd). I love good acoustic guitar players. Jazz. Current 93. And Dungeon Synth :).

I highly, highly recommend everyone try Pinback!! You will enjoy them if you enjoy prog rock, indie rock, alt rock, whatever. Poetic lyrics and amazing instrumentals packed with great segments of guitar, drums, bass, keyboards. They are criminally under-popular.

Otherwise, some of my favorite artists are The Cranberries, bôa, Cocteau Twins, Tori Amos, Kristin Hersh, PJ Harvey, Imogen Heap, the band Death, Ozric Tentacles, and some rappers from various countries because I love the sound of various languages!

I love stuff in nearly every genre out there, and I collect lots of music physically and digitally, so feel free to send some niche music my way! I like folk from everywhere, electronic music in various styles from ambient to noisy and chaotic, rap, metal and adjacent genres, songwriter, indie pop, rock, spoken word, vaporwave.. You name it!

My favorite band of all time is Pink Floyd (has been since I was 13 and idk if that'll ever change), but these days I mainly listen to gothic rock/dark wave above all else. My favorites are Depeche Mode, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, London After Midnight, Sisters of Mercy, Sitchblade Symphony, and Starberry Switchblade. I'd also describe my taste as general 60's/70's stuff (David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, Velvet Underground), a bit of folk/folk punk (Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Simon and Garfunkle, AJJ, Mountain Goats), some "weirdcore" stuff (Will Wood, Jack Stauber, Soddikken), and a bit of experimental/industrial rock (Nine Inch Nails, Swans, The Legendary Pink Dots).
