Nintendo Direct + Treehouse Live (Jun 9 2026)

Writing this while watching the direct, discuss it here! What are you hoping for or what did you think of it if you saw it after it ended?

I'm personally really hoping for a remake of Super Paper Mario and the more I type that out the more I feel like I'm going mad but I'll stay hoping

Okay why is Link so ugly in the OoT remake trailer :( Looks like they took the first result for "ocarina of time unreal engine" search on YouTube and hired the designer. Just awful looking.

seriously!! I'm tired of "hyper-realistic skin texture" being the norm. a remake doesn't need to mean losing your style/game identity

Personally I'm pretty happy, Pikuniku 2 and DELTARUNE were the big ones for me lol. I'm glad Nintendo is also giving more respect to the most competitive sport, thumb wrestling, in switch sports resort

i think i was too excited while making this, sure not a bad direct but third parties are carrying the switch 2, where are the nintendo games, where is the big 3D mario that in consoles of the past defined their systems and often genre??? genuinely i still can not see a real point to the switch 2 without it's big mario game. sure it has some exclusives but other than pokeopia, and i guess later on raiders, what games really matter on switch 2? because all that i can tell thats on this is jrpgs and mario sports spin offs. yeah not bad but it's not enough.

i see a lot of similarities between it and the wii u, main difference being that switch 2 is actually getting stuff from third parties, but theyre both sequels to successful historic consoles, but have hardly anything to them other than it's your old system but bigger and better with this new gimmick that's hardly being given a good use. and i consider that an insult to the wii u.

yeah the thumb wrestling segment was my favourite part of the direct :3 (i just wish they would drop nintendo from the title, switch sports resort is enough)
Pikuniku 2 looked really nice, I haven't played a lot of the original but I am quite excited for it!!!
deltarune, I mean yeah cool that it's been announced but we already knew it was happening and the last chapters were just last year. deltarune announcements are like finding someone in hide and seek, really glad they're found and there, but we know that they were hiding it's no shock. no hate ofc, tbh I'm probably personally just a little disappointed, it wasn't bad at all but it's been a while since the last direct and i really expected more from it.
