My friend! (Drinking bird and related doodads)

Hello here is my new friend! He is very thirsty and enjoys drinking water from a cup! I do worry about slimier birds who are stored in boxes or delivered to people who do not give them a nice cup of water to drink from, that actually makes me quite upset, but I try not to think about it too much!

Anyway here he is

i got one of these thirsty little guys for christmas a few years back, i dont have any photos right now but i’ll edit this post when i can get one. i named him odds-bodkins (oddy for short)! i keep him on my desk and i try to replace his water when i remember though i’m definitely guilty of forgetting.. i’m sorry oddy i’m a terrible father T_T

I have really bad news today 12/06/2026 This afternoon there was a horrible big gust wind that came in the window and it picked up my drinking bird and they fell on the floor and broke 

It happened quickly and I don't think they suffered, drinking bird had a full cup of water with them at the end.

Sometimes people are just too good for this world and they get called back to go on to higher things; its us that get left behind who have to face reality without them. I think maybe that's a reminder that life is short and what can seem like a normal day could be the last you have with a loved one. I hope your remember to be kinder to yourself and other, to let go of ambitions and greeds and desires, and to just enjoy the time you have with your cup of water, whatever it may be. That was what drinking bird had to offer, and I hope I can honor it.

So long drinking bird, you were a thirsty fellow, and a good friend, and I'll miss you
