favorite childhood snack/food?

i've been making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a couple days now as a quick meal. cant beat the classic, i suppose. i've made them on my own ever since i was little, its very comforting for me!

some honorable mentions; apple slices + peanut butter, pomegranates, fruit snacks (does anyone remember when walmart had those smiley face fruit snacks? i adored those), probably a ton more im forgetting.

do you have a favorite childhood snack, that maybe you still eat to this day? or maybe there's something you loved that was discontinued, or otherwise dont eat in the present day for whatever reason.

People used to think it was a weird snack even as a kid, but I used to love getting Birds Custard and drinking it out of the carton while watching movies (Spirited Away in particular was a regular custard movie) 



I grew out of that a long time ago, but I do buy some maybe once a year and its a nice memory (though I use a bowl to eat it these days) - it still tastes the same.

it was ether 2012 or 2013 and i became obsessed with these bad boys



i associate them with the sonic adventure DX on GameCube

they were my fuel through out that whole playthrough

i started playing it again because my brother just mentioned that you could get super sonic if you beat all the story's

i thought it was so cool so i decided i was going to beat the game
i had been playing it but could not beat it for the longest time

but yah i usually buy those cheez-its when i want to play sonic adventure again

i dont blame you in the slightest, i love custard. i've only ever had it in pastries though, like donuts. still, its some good stuff. (also Spirited Away is my fav ghibli movie!)

OH MY GOSH i loved these!! we rarely ever had them in the house, but when we did... i would need to physically stop myself from eating the entire box LOL

i've been thinking of playing sonic adventure eventually, myself. maybe i should look and see if they have these before i set off to play it haha

My mom didn't buy much snacks besides rice cakes and pretzels. I hated pretzels and wasn't a big fan of rice cakes either. At my dad's house there was usually chips in the house but I wasn't a big chip eater either. Even worse, he'd often buy the WOW! chips, which very famously had some...side effects. Look it up.

I guess I didn't crave carbs much as a kid. But I was absolutely ravenous for sugar. I'd ride my bike over a mile down the road at the prospect of possibly getting my hands on a Choco Taco or some Butterfinger BB's. I wish they'd bring those back!

But in the summertime a simple slice of watermelon can't be beat.

now i want watermelon... im surprised we havent got any yet this summer. chilled watermelon on hot days like this sounds absolutely divine.

When I was a kid, I absolutely loved barbecue flavored popcorn. I have a core memory of watching the 3D Hannah Montana movie where it was airing on TV while eating it, and being just completely covered in horrible bbq seasoning all over my fingers and lips. Little me was having the time of my life though. Sadly, my local grocery store never sells it. Not even the flavored salt. I'm so deeply disappointed by that. They've got barbecue peanuts, at least.

I also grew up getting zebra cakes in my lunch pretty much every day as a little kid. They were these little cakes decorated to look like zebra skin that had creamy white filling in the middle. The best part about eating them was getting to pretend I was Simba from The Lion King and I was eating a chunk of zebra hide.

I was a weird little kid.

I remember that I used to like ripping out chunks of turkey ham from the fridge (no utensils, I'd just use my hands or teeth... I also wouldn't microwave/cook anything) and dip it in either orange creme or vanilla yogurt. It tasted... like meat dipped in yogurt.
Another Classic (TM) has also gotta be the lunch meat and bread combo. It was just uncooked lunch meat and untoasted bread.

no judgement from me to you both! im sure i did some weird stuff with my food as a kid... still kinda do! they tell you to not play with your food, but i find that playing with it (perhaps in a way that most dont usually expect) helps me enjoy it better. i struggle to get nutrition into me properly due to a condition, so i gotta find ways to make it easier yknow?
