Not sure if it's just me but... I was surprised to see that Habbo is still online?

Regular Habbo has multiple language servers, though it looks like instead of the browser it now runs in a program. In addition to that, on Steam there is Habbo Hotel: Origins which is a recreation of Habbo how it was in 2005.

This game has some amazing pixel art items.

Tangentially related, but Are there any open source/self hostable chatroom games like this? I feel like that could be an interesting niche for the Indie web to fill.

I thiiiiink that the room with the pool is not a thing anymore in the web version? :') But it is in Origins

I never heard of this and have only become aware of it recently. Neopets ran a promotion where you could convert your pet's appearance to the pixelated "Habbo style". It honestly looked pretty cute and more appealing than the default pixelated look of pets that were painted with the 8-Bit Paintbrush. I have an 8-Bit Jubjub and wanted to convert him to Habbo style but they didn't offer it for that species.

Habbo hasn't been the same since Quackity stopped raiding it... I can't beleive he sold out and became a Minecraft-Tuber. (￢︿̫̿￢ )

I decided to try this out because I never really played it as a kid. I like the general idea of a chatroom game still, but I can't really find a room where I actually gel with the group. Do you have any recommended rooms? Or is there a Melonland room?
