as i've mentioned in a few other threads, i'm a huge fan of model trains! (and trains in general, but i'm much more of a modeler than a trainspotter. maybe i'll make a thread about that too though)
i've been a fan of them for like..a majority of my life, haha. i used to watch this corny old dvd video series about model trains that particularly focused on old-school O-scale lionel stuff. i'm a lot less fond of o-scale and lionel as a company now, but i still have some affection for it.

i do stuff with HO scale trains. i don't really have a proper layout yet, just a small ez-track loop on some plywood, but it's still fun to watch em go and all that :) i'll attach some pics of my locomotives here!! they'll be in this spoiler

the santa fe bluebonnet was my first. it's a life-like brand model, probably from the 90s or 2000s. it came in a set. the bnsf was my second, also came in a set. i got the amtrak as a christmas gift, i love that one so much. the chessie, tank engine, and amtrak shunter all came from various resale places. i think the chessie is a life-like? the tank engine and shunter don't work, lol.

I will admit I am quite Unfamiliar to trains, models or Otherwise (it is more my brother's thing!) .. Though there Has been a specific Model Train Museum I have gone to Multiple times with my family, And I always enjoy going to It! Seeing every intricate Train run accordingly Is just nice towards My brain and so I hold much Appreciation for it

Screw it, that died, it was good, but it died, and everything good dies.
Let's fix this the way we can, that's it.

Despite being also into engines, I neither have the space nor the money to really get into model trains at this time- especially considering I'd want very, very specific models if I were to start collecting. With that being said, I do have a 3D print coming in the mail of Talyllyn's No.9, that is supposed to be used for layouts and such. I'm getting it for, 'Blorbo' reasons as one might've guessed, but I figured it was related enough to share to this thread...

I love seeing model train setups made by others, but I've never really participated myself. I don't have the space or time right now, and that part of my brain is scratched by playing OpenTTD. My parents had a brief phase where they were building in their basement, but it has fizzled into an every-other-Christmas hobby like it originally was. I really love the train setup at the Kamin Science Center in Pittsburgh though.

Someday I'd like to make a small layout that runs all SEPTA trains and trolleys. SEPTA is one of the many things I miss about living in Philly.

when i get the chance, i'll have to share photos of my padre's model trains. collecting them is his hobby; every time he goes antiquing, he always seems to come home with 1 model train car. he likes building looping tracks on desks and shelves and stuff. choo choo! :transport:
