Hobbies You Like to Try If Money's NOT an Issue?

[ashton]

silversmithing and lithography printing ; ^ ;

all the silversmithing classes near me are ridiculously expensive, which ig makes sense in a way. materials cost money and all that but mannnn what i wouldn't give to be able to make my own jewelry as someone who wears a lot of it and is allergic to most of the inexpensive stuff

lithography is mostly a location issue tbf a lot of the courses and workshops are ~4 hours away from me. i don't drive so taking the train like twice a week just for a class would end up running my pockets dry pretty quickly i think :'(

my immediate thought here was 'HORSE RIDING!!' and it looks like im not the only one in this thread with that sentiment.

I've been playing a lot of read dead redemption 2 lately and one of my coworkers was raised around horses and lives with horses on her family's property. I want to learn to at least ride one because

• it looks cool as hell
• it looks fun as hell
• it's something that we have humans have been doing for the majority of known history.

Horse riding not only seems fun, but is one of those things that, in a way, connects us to ancient humans that have been doing this activity for thousands of years.

I guess the other thing I'd do is probably collecting a lot of manga LOL

[♡QUAGSIRE ENJOYER♡]

for me it would be collecting arcade machines

i love games like
sega bass fishing
crazy taxi
centipede
metal slug
and lots of neo geo stuff

but even if i had the money i Shure as hell don't have the space for these giant machines lol

Buying a fursuit and going to furry conventions worldwide kind of like how most popufurs already do that sort of thing because they have lots of money to burn.

I would like just traveling in general or opening my own business for furries, but I don't have the means to do either of those things right now.

My top ones would be, in no particular order:

Glass blowing
jewellery making
paper making
silk screen printing
gold leaf illumination (or at least how to do it properly)
gem cutting
mechanical watch repair

I would LOVE to try out backpacking, and just anything travel related, I'm the type of gal who loves to explore. Another thing I'd like to do is homelabbing too, I found out about it a few weeks ago, I've noticed a lot of people are starting to resort to that for backing up their files and for streaming on Jellyfin as an alternative for pesky streaming services, and it piqued my interested honestly.

It's been mentioned by many others already but horse riding oh my gawd

My girlfriend never owned her own horse but she helped take care of one in exchange for also getting to ride it in her childhood (there's a term for this but I have no clue what it's called in english). Hearing her talk about it, showing me pictures etc has gotten me really interested in trying it myself! I was never a horse girl really but playing SSO has done something to me it seems  In Norway there are a few riding camps that offer 2-6 hour long horse rides in groups, and I've already started saving up.

If money was no object I'd also love to try

doll customizing/repaints.

I fell into a YouTube rabbit hole a few years ago watching videos where people sew new doll clothes, change the doll hair, the face paint etc. It looks like a BLAST! But it requires so much equipment to do it properly and safely and I don't have the time or the budget for that

Check out Dollightful and HeXtian on YT if you think doll repaints sounds cool! It's so insanely fascinating to watch

Honestly, horses may be expensive, but I don't see why doll customization would be expensive. I imagine the materials aren't too expensive, and the tools would be a one time purchase, even woodworking at workshop isn't too expensive.

Hell yea, you sound awesome gal!
I'm more familiar with hiking than I am backpacking, though when it comes to backpacks themselves, Osprey backpacks are awesome af.

I accidentally chucked one down a fucking mountain in Sedona, and the mfer survived, so did the Yeti inside.

I will say this...
BRING WATER
I'd recommend a stainless steel water container, such as a Yeti. The one inside your backpack should be at least a gallon. Also have containers on your side as well. Water stays cool/warm, and you have a fuckton of it.
