I took some pictures at a local shopping center today 29/10/2026; I took them after coming out of the Cinema at around 5:30pm it was busier before I went in. I also went to Wendy's; as far as I know its one of the only Wendy's in Ireland. I would very much not say I love this place, but I do remember when they built it around 2005 when I was a kid, and its very interesting that it has remained almost unchanged since then while still being very much alive while so many malls in the world have died

broooo... I remember Stonebriar Center, I used to live in Frisco Texas.

It's a fuckin awesome place, considering there isn't really much to do in Texas besides getting drunk and then getting struck by lightning afterwards

Nice, another (once) fellow texan!! I agree, it gets REAL boring here. The amount of places worth going to in my area is probably in the single digits. I'm thinking of moving somewhere else like Chicago someday simply because it has a functioning public transportation system, it's not constantly 100 degrees, and if nothing else, to be blessed with the presence of Technology Connections and Jamie Paige. If you're OK with it, what area do you live in now and how is it like?

I live in Arizona, PHX area, I like it much better here than I ever did in Texas. I like the fact that there's more nature and scenery here.

portland resident here! i’m super excited seeing someone mention the lloyd!! it was a city staple for as long as it was open and i spent many a lazy preteen weekend there getting pretzels at auntie anne’s and loafing around ignoring my homework. its closure in august was devastating for everyone in the local community. i miss it every day :-(

having opened in 1960, it was oregon’s oldest mall. i recall it being more alive pre-covid. the pandemic killed off a lot of malls but our beloved lloyd made it out somehow, though obviously not unscathed as you mentioned though that post-covid era ended up being a blessing in disguise!

there’s this elderly married couple that skated in its giant ice rink four days a week ever since the late 70’s. they had their final skate there on august 8th 2026, the lloyd’s final day, with a whole crowd watching… it was super emotional. the oregonian did a brief publication about it. there won’t ever be a place like the lloyd center again.

I heard about it shutting down from friends (so sad!), I'm glad I got to experience it pre-closure. Truly a golden era in its own way! Very touching.
