Impressive Title! (Animal MMORPG)

Impressive Title is a 100% FREE open source MMORPG from 2008 where you can run around as a big cat in bizarre low-poly environments and hunt the wildlife to obtain customization items... the original game is long gone but many variants of it exist. check them out here

there are two versions of Impressive Title that are my favorites:

YCOSMAS is more similar to the original game but features many many more creatures, items, and environments. the new maps and textures are VERY beautiful and i love just wandering around and exploring it

Celestial Oracle is a lot more focused on traditional RPG elements with a levelling system and quests. the asset work in this game is awesome. maps are very small but lovely.

just spreading the word of these games cus i am very fascinated by them. do you know these talk about them if you want to

i remember playing feralheart, which is one of the most popular versions. when i was a kid i only really had access to like, flash games and ds shovelware. i understood the internet and that there were people on it of course, but the idea of being in a digital world and interacting with others there was so magical to me. i think my first encounter with that sort of thing was wolfquest, which is now known as wolfquest classic (way to make me feel old!)

then i started learning about mmorpgs - wildstar and mabinogi and such - and further, into impressive title and other chatroom-esque virtual worlds. sadly i never managed to play feralheart too much before its abandonment(?). but i do remember hanging around in the caves, trying my hand at platforming, that one, big area that people would form roleplay "families" in... i loved the style, even though i wasn't a massive fan of the lion king.

thanks for sharing these! i didn't know about either of these. i played a feralheart-like a bit ago but i forget the name, it was basically a 1:1 recreation of the game. as i didn't play impressive title, i'm excited to explore these. the levelling and cosmetic hunting is especially interesting to me as feralheart didn't have these, it was mostly just a chat program!

I never played Impressive Title, but I used to play Feralheart with a person I was friends with in middle school and Wolfquest all the time as a kid. I have such fond memories of trying to recreate Simba in FH or desperately trying to get past the feeding your pups stage of WQ and never being able to lmao.

Wowww I love Celestial Oracle!!! The devs are very active and the community is very kind, as far as I've interacted with them <3
I was still a baby when IT and FH were in their prime, unfortunately, but I've always enjoyed animal centered games and especially RPGs with looots of customisation!! So happy to have found active IT servers !!!
