The fact that it's almost certainly going to be used primarily for training AI models is disappointing but not a surprise. Everything on the web gets scraped nowadays, but there's something extra annoying about sites that directly funnel into that for profit.
I have ethical concerns about AI that are more complex than "all generative AI is theft," but I do find the idea of someone directly profiting from content I produce without my explicit consent to be incredibly sleazy, especially under a capitalist system that places the highest value on being able to claim "ownership" of an idea. Modern social media is functionally denying everyone who uses it from ever "owning" that content, and this is just another example of that.
