Happy New Year all, hope you're all been keeping well.

I'm still recovering from covid myself. But today I came across this video which ended up being a fascinating research attempt into why a lot of Japanese websites remain old-fashioned. Or rather, not using typical modern web design standards. I feel it may be of interest to many of you here, considering a lot of us are here to relive the retro web experience!

Oh that's a good explanation actually. I've seen some Japanese websites update to a more "modern" look in the last years.

Yeah, I never realised their mobile technology was so far ahead of the game and that the old web style was good for that format way back when!
