making a site layout with grids

AUGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i made a concept doodle for my Half Finished homepage (pictured below) & i'm still relatively new to html/css so i'm not sure how exactly to get the skeleton for the layout. i know it should probably be a css grid, but i'm not sure exactly what to do

you can use a handy css grid layout-maker to get started! here is a link to one. this even lets you click a button to play with the layout you make on codepen.

additional tip: add big colorful borders to things while you're working so you know where all the boxes are and delete them when you're done. super helpful for me when i'm working on stuff!
