okay so hear me out.... ice cream on pizza.  :chef:

likeeee you can experiment with other flavors butttt SPECIFICALLY either chocolate,
vanilla or coffee icecream on chesse/pepperoni pizza. and you only put the ice cream
on the piece of pizza you're about to bite (so it's not really smeared all over the pizza).

first time i did that, i felt like that one ratatouille scene where Remy could
visualize all of the different flavors and really FEEL how the food graced
his tastebuds. that was me.

something i also like (and i found this out as a broke uni student :skull: )... ramen w sausage and crackers (like crix).
.... HOLD THE PITCHFORKS!! yes i know, i know, i know but listen.  :eyes:

take a bite of the ramen, then a bite of the sausage, then a bite of the cracker... then you chew and BOOM.
that unlocked a new flavor profile that I go back to whenever it crosses my mind.  :chef:

so yea! i'd love to hear what other niche combos or personal meals you guys have created!!
bonus points if ur friends/fam thought it was weird

:dot: WE LISTEN AND WE DON'T JUDGE  :unite:

people used to make fun of me for ranch on my pizza which is like a completely average thing to do buuut i have several things i do ppl have called "weird" (dunno if they actually are, especially not compared to your example no offense):

dip toast in coco wheats

put barbecue chips in sandwiches

chicken nuggets in salsa

onion pbj

hot sauce and mayonnaise on tuna straight from can

and the last one for **gourmet** pre packaged ramen:

no flavor pack, garlic powder, sesame seeds, soy sauce/braggs sauce or whatever idk (if you run out of one or the other)

again these are probably all completely sane things many have done long before my time but like u should try it or something

I have (and love) peanut butter and honey sandwiches (bread, butter, peanut butter, honey, bread in that order) which I got an online friend to try and they liked it too, i love the way the honey doesn't actually mix with the peanut butter but just sits on top
...also as an australian i feel like fairy bread is an obvious one, buttered bread with sprinkles on it which is absolutely incredible

Peanut butter in ramen. It is not gross, it's like how peanut oil is used as an ingredient in various noodle dishes. Some milk in the broth is good too.

When I was young, I loved crisps sandwiches. My sister would put tomato ketchup on hers, and I liked mine with pickled onions. Strange times.

Ice cream on pizza sounds strange, but I had ice cream ramen before. It's spicy, with creamy ice cream and peanut butter. I can see the appeal, but I'm not a fan of sweet things outside of snacks and desserts (except sweet sour pork).

I can understand how crackers and ramen can taste good together, I might give it a try one day, though I don't buy crackers a lot, I don't like the texture most of the time.

The only strange combination I have in mind is avocados and soy sauce. It would feel like eating sashimi!

I used to love croutons dipped in applesauce as a kid. Mostly because I lived in an "ingredient household" and didn't have snack foods XD I liked how the cold applesauce merged with the crunchiness of the croutons.

Cheesy rice?? With onions??? Who would think that's weird???? It sounds heavenly! Two of the best foods ever, rice and cheese, doesn't seem even remotely bad to me! People are so silly sometimes.

Mine is kind of a combination between peanuts and pickles...boiled peanuts with vinegar and crab boil spices. A favorite in the North American south, but also popular in Northern Mexico. Everyone I've introduced them too says they're too strong and too wierd, but I love them so much!

I've gotten weird looks for this but...french fries dipped in mayo. Maybe sprinkle a little garlic salt and sweet or smoked paprika (depending on your personal tastes)...it tastes sooo yummy.

I live in American and its not at all considered normal :/ ketchup is the go-to dipping sauce but I personally don't like it despite liking tomatoes.

huh, is it really that uncommon? i personally don't like it, but i've met a handful of people who do this! i guess the more common version of it is mayo mixed with ketchup (funny enough, i believe this is called "fry sauce"), but i thought using plain mayo as a dipping sauce was more widespread.

i'm not sure i have any strange combinations these days, but when i was younger, i used to dip cheez-its in vanilla ice cream. i think i discovered this purely by accident because i dropped a cheez-it into one of those little cups of ice cream they'd have at school parties and such (you know the ones - they had those godawful wooden "spoons"). it tends to be best when the ice cream is a little bit melted, but not so much to the point that it's basically soup. i also haven't had this combination since i was nine years old probably so i have no idea if it's still worth trying

This was so weird to read because in the Netherlands fries with mayo is the go-to combo, to the point where you can order a "fries with" and people will understand that you mean "with mayo". On the contrary, fries with ketchup is more of an uncommon (but not rare) option here. I think ordering fries with BBQ sauce would get you stares, though.

I used to REGULARLY eat peanutbutter and cheese on toast, or I'd dip my grilled cheese in peanut butter..... everyone would always be so weirded out but like???? peanut cheese and meat on a platter is something that happens a lot [or like various nuts in general] so I never figured out why people think it's so weird. I also when hungover would sometimes put peanutbutter on room temp pizza. I almost never do these anymore though.

The weirdest thing I *still eat*, once again involves peanutbutter haha.. but I used to eat those like cubed hashbrowns [with the onions and peppers] and an over medium egg with spoonfuls of peanutbutter. Especially because of the egg I can get if people find it weird xD but yeah.

Also the LEAST weird things I like is pickles and salsa in my salads [I don't like dressing AT ALL not a single one, so it adds flavor and can help if a salad feels too dry], and chocolate with potato [mainly french fries dipped in chocolate shakes or chocolate on/with potato chips] I've had a lot of odd comments like "why would you do that?" but no one has ever been blatantly grossed out by it like the few above this have actively grossed people out haha.

see I know knew TONS of people who just dip stuff in certain condiments. I hate all condiments except ketchup [and if you can consider like cheese sauce or soy sauces condiments I like those too] so I find anything like that gross on principle of I just hate the condiments, but in high school tons of people would dip their pizza in ranch, fries in mayo, and chicken in cheese sauce or mustard. the pizza in ranch will always bet he weirdest of all of those to me, but again I just don't like condiments xD

thanks for your inputs so far guys!! im a bit tempted to taste a few of these already :dive:

you inspired me to try this recently, and let me just say.. WOW. i'm a big time peanut butter lover AND a ramen lover so it was just  :chef: i think i made the "broth" too thick though, i was full after a few bites.

This was so weird to read because in the Netherlands fries with mayo is the go-to combo, to the point where you can order a "fries with" and people will understand that you mean "with mayo". the "fries with" thing is so cool! i'd definitely be saying that a lot if I were there. i totally get eating fries with bbq chicken and like... rubbing the fry in some of that sauce.. but just thinking about eating fries ONLY with bbq sauce is giving me a headache

I used to love croutons dipped in applesauce as a kid. Mostly because I lived in an "ingredient household" and didn't have snack foods XD I liked how the cold applesauce merged with the crunchiness of the croutons.
LMAO the ingredient household is too real. getting hungry and opening all the cupboards to find NO snacks... and thus we must create our own >< i haven't had applesauce in AGES but that sounds bomb!!
