my final grad school project - a twine rpg that immerses you in pinterest

hello friends! i stopped posting here shortly after i joined, due to the harrowing demands of grad school (i'm graduating next week with a masters in art education!). i thought this would be a great place to share my final project for advanced studio -

over the past few months i've started to realize that coding html is an important part of my personal artistic practice, so i wanted to delve deeper into coding as an art form for my studio piece. our group exhibition was themed around the idea of "play", so i was thinking about video games, and i'm also a bit obsessed with pinterest (an underrated social media platform imo). so i had this idea to create a video game out of pinterest...

i used twine to code the game - this was my first time using the twine app and i loved it, i can't wait to use it to create other projects in the future. also my first time writing a line of javascript from scratch!

i'm in the process of making the site mobile-compatible, but i really intended it to be played on a desktop/laptop.

would love to hear your thoughts!

Wow, I really love it! Just played through it once, but I will try out all the other paths soon :)

I like the aesthetics and writing style, and the playlist I got was really fitting too I only had 3 dollars left lol.

if you're curious, my sentence was

first, we're going to board a e-car and take a 2 hour journey across the ocean. when we arrive, we must get a ethereal apple rose pastry immediately! then we'll go to the famous coding street, and make sure to take pictures of st. vigdís' cathedral. you have to buy lots of poppies and beautiful animals! ravish me! we're going to paris, ava!

aww, thank you! and omg thank you for sharing the mad libs esque generated story - i never get tired of reading them (my professor emailed me the one she got, lol)

haha! thank you! tbh i couldn't figure out the code to prevent people from "shopping" if they didn't have enough money 😂 so i just created a consequence for it later in the game, lol.
