Anyone here into Original Character Tournaments? - ✎ ∙ Art Crafting

I was just wondering if anyone here does OCTs? I'm quite new to them, only started joining in them in August 2021, my first OCT is War For Rayuba. But I am curious if anyone here does these tourneys, newbie or veteran.

If you don't know what OCTs are, they are Original Character Tournaments where you have your own OC and you get to matchup with another person, your opponent! They've been a thing for a bit more than 2 decades now. The usual medium is comics, but depending on the OCT there are other mediums accepted too like animation. You and your opponent have your own OCs, and both of you are going to make a comic of them interacting. Depending on the theme or prompt of the OCT, you might have to make your OC kill them or just interact with each other. It sounds like a really competitive thing but in my experience, winning isn't exactly the main goal you aim for, it's to have fun from making your own scrimblo comics including other people's scrimblos hehe. I follow a "fun first, competition second" mindset.

I'd like to thank W4R for introducing me into them (the PMG youtube video...) a veteran told me its the biggest OCT they've ever seen, and someone else from the community archived all the pages in preparation for the Imgur mass deletion of images, and we got about 20 GB of 20k pages!! A whole lotta comics!!! Unfortunately, some pages are lost. But I think that page count is pretty cool. Big numbers...

I've only participated in 4 OCTs so far (I'm currently working on a comic for the fourth one!) and I really wanna join in more. I haven't tried enterVoid or Oculama yet but I should check them out (also I believe they're OC Leagues rather than OCTs?? idk still very similar in concept). I want to kill ! I want to do violence!! but unfortunately I get burnt out easily, lol
