these two have already been mentioned, but I am obsessed with The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars by David Bowie and Hawaii: part II. Both are absolutely stunning!!

and also, personal favourite, "in case I make it," by Will Wood (not me having joined this forum Sunday and having already posted about it AT LEAST once before this). This is definitely my favourite album of his, and I'm actually reading Ratman's Notebooks because of it right now (the book gets referenced in this one song). I am obsessed with this album, it's just so

i'm surprised no ones mentioned it yet so i guess ill be the first-- spirit phone by lemon demon has some really fantastic transitions between songs and it's really thematically cohesive  i also like the dentonweaver by raccoon tour a whole lot, but im not sure how much of that is just because it was the first album i got on vinyl, and mellon collie & the infinite sadness by the smashing pumpkins is just a good album overall.

I love listening to albums all the way through. It's partly why I like collecting vinyl records!

• The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway by Genesis. A concept album so I think it's best when listened to in one sitting. Almost 2 hours long though. Probably my favorite album of all time. I once listened to nothing but this album for approx. 6 months back in 2019.
  
• Never Before Seen, Never Again Found by Arm's Length. I just think this album is banger after banger after banger. Once I start it I usually go all the way through in one sitting.
  
• please be nice by Camping In Alaska. Just quintessential Emo Revival from the early 2010s, nothin' but good songs in my opinion and a very good place to get into Emo Revival as this album is pretty easy to digest.
  
• Everything Seems Better Now by vs self. Some people call them midwest emo, some people call them screamo/skramz. I just call them good LOL. One song from this album is currently very popular on TikTok, it's funny to hear after so long of this band being something only I seemingly knew about.
  
• On Fire by Galaxie 500. Great album! I believe it is considered "Slowcore", but I am NOT well-versed enough in that genre to definitively say if it is or what that is.

Really I could probably just list every album I ever listen to but I shall refrain haha.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of albums. Just, Straight through. I'm not a fan of how Apple Music handles playlists, so since breaking off of premium music streaming services, I've been listening to a lot of albums! In particular, nearly the entire discography of Ben Folds. As it turns out, I own a lot more Ben Folds albums than I thought. More than any sane person should own. It's eyebrow raising, to say the least. So many :sob: Anyways, top albums this week...

Stems and Seeds - Ben Folds. Fav Track: Brainwascht (Tied with the Conan version of You Don't Know Me)
Alter Ego - LISA. Fav Track: Thunder (Would be Born Again, but that wasn't on the CD release.)
In a Tidal Wave of Mystery - Capital Cities. Fav Track: Kangaroo Court

I love a concept album. Anything by The Mechanisms is a good choice if you like musical theatre, folk music, and bands with lore behind their albums. (while they don't really come out of the filk scene, if you're into filk music you should absolutely check them out.)

And also The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan is one of the few non-musical theatre and non-concept albums that I listen to all the way through. Also the original soundtracks for media I like; the Wolf 359 soundtracks are fantastic.

There  are  three  albums  I  come back  to  regularly:

I  tend  to  fixate  on  certain  artists  when  I  get  to  liking  them  so  it  takes  a  while  for  me  to  move  on  to  new  music.

Personally the only one that comes to mind is really A Love Supreme by John Coltrane. Not just because it's an absolute masterpiece, but the songs in their individual just...don't work as well. I mean don't get me wrong, there's plenty of albums that absolutely work best when listened through in order, but few albums that absolutely needs it. A Love Supreme is one of those few. In my opinion.

I've been trying to make an effort to listen to more albums. I'm currently listening to Bleed Like Me by Garbage, the deluxe version. I've been working my way through their discography and this is my favorite album by them so far.
