truth be told i had opened my account here back in october but never got to post anything (much less be on here at all).... but i want to go ahead now since i'm just sitting in my room with nothing else better to do. it's 4 am so there's not much i can do anyways. after all, better late than never, right?

hello, i'm lot and/or rigel (she/her). i respond to either of the two, so you may either stick to just one or alternate, whichever you prefer! as of now, i am currently a college freshman attending art school in chicago. i don't think i've ever been on a forum before as an active user, so i'm excited to try it out

some things i enjoy are:
:melon:  art! i hope to open commissions soon
:melon: roleplaying, though i would like to get back into the habit of doing individual writing somehow...
:melon: listening to/discovering new music. feel free to throw recs! as of now i think this playlist can describe my current tastes. earlier i was listening to car bomb's "meta" album and i'm digging with that too
:melon: taking walks in the city
 :melon: character creation
:melon: listening, whether it be casual conversation or niche infodumps

i actually only recently got into web building and the web revival movement through a friend, so i am still very much a beginner when it comes to coding. when coding on my own it's definitely messy, and inefficient, and possibly not the best way i could go about things. and it's likely i'll come back to it several months later and be all "what the hell! what was bro doing!" but that's alright - i'm still learning. it's a goal of mine to familiarize myself with all of this, as i feel like this will be a good outlet to start expressing myself with. thank you for reading! :dive:

welcome to melonland!

we both seem to share a hobby for art! show me some of your stuff one day  :ozwomp:
for music, i think you should try listening to BUCK-TICK, it's probably one of the v-kei bands out there  :4u:

i also like character creation, which is why i always love games with a creator of sorts  the more advanced, the better

have fun!

Seriously, though, can't wait to see how your site develops. I love the aesthetic already.:4u:

yesterday i actually decided to check out BUCK-TICK's stuff while the forum was closed (which was before i got the chance to reply even after i saw you guys' posts  ... but anyways), i really like what i'm hearing so far! i binged their "darker than darkness style 93" album and listened to a bit of "tenshi no revolver", some of my faves from both are ZERO, D.T.D, ao no sekai and CREAM SODA.

i actually haven't listened to much of their stuff, but i'm curious to explore them further too! a friend recommended me the song i put in the playlist i linked (which goes ultra hard - the guitar riffs and the drums are my favorite, and i LOVE the vocalist's voice), i believe i listened a bit to the "ammonite" album after that but i don't recall finishing it.... that was a small while ago tho so i can share my thoughts on it after a relisten if you'd like! i'm curious which albums of theirs are your favorites! i'll go check them out as well  :ozwomp:

darker than darkness style 93 is my favorite BT album, and ao no sekai/DTD are my favorite tracks on it as well!! :ha:

Fun fact, not sure if you knew this, but on the CD for the album, DTD was track number 99. They did that thing where after the album ends there's a bunch of empty 'tracks' so the cd skips for a bit. Super cool and creepy.

the guitar riffs and the drums are my favorite, and i LOVE the vocalist's voice)

Seriously, they're such a talented band. Ryutaro has some really unique vocals.

Still working my way through their discography, but my favorite album is Puppet Show, and the Singles Collection they have on Spotify. Favorite songs of theirs are Ghost (not on spotify, but has a wonderful pv on youtube), ENGOKU, tefutefu. :ozwomp:
