Hello!!! i go by sharpi!! i use any pronouns ^^

a good while back i found myself frustrated by þe current internet and how...not fun it looks now. at first it was an Aesþetic Appeal þiŋ but þe more i learned þe more i realized someþiŋ really needed to change; i was inspired to learn more about þe peripheral web and participate in it!! i created a neocities and eventually learned about þis place, i've been wantiŋ to use a forum for quite a while now so im really happy to join!

as you might have noticed, i use old eŋlish letters when writiŋ, specifically þ and ŋ. þ for th and ŋ for ng. some people register it as a typiŋ quirk but i do believe þey are genuine letters! i do understand for some people it may be hard to read þough, and if people deem it too obtrusive i'll stop usiŋ þem ^^

when it comes to my hobbies, interests, etc. i'm an avid homestuck and linux propaganda machine. im not super experienced when it comes to usiŋ linux but im super super happy wiþ my experience so far! for stuff i do, im an artist! i don't draw often þough, and þat's someþiŋ i eventually want to change. i also have some experience wiþ codiŋ in html css and a little bit of js. right now i'm workiŋ on changiŋ þe layout of my site, and im super super excited to finish it!

þat's all for now, cya!! :D

Hi Sharpi! It's great to meet you! I'm new here myself, so I thought I'd drop by the Greetings and Introductions board to say hi to some other folks who are new here!

I love this! Thorn is a fun letter. I don't know the name of the one you use in place of the "ng" diphthong, but that's fun too—I think they use it in the International Phonetic Alphabet! What first sparked your interest in the subject? I'd probably use them myself if they weren't so much of a hassle to type.

Nice! I'm still on Windows, but I won't lie: the ethos of Linux does seem far more up my alley. Perhaps one day, eh? As for the coding and your website, that all sounds great! I had a bit of bother with my site layout a while back, so I've started from scratch and I've just decided to focus on getting all the content actually onto my site before I fiddle around with how it looks. I've just had a look, though, and your website is gorgeous! Really clean and uncluttered. I've added it to my bookmarks, so I look forward to seeing how it develops! :-)

ŋ is called eŋ (eng)! þat's probably not what it's called in þe IPA but i have seen it used þere before! as for what sparked my interest, i've always had an interest in laŋuages and learniŋ about how þey evolve fascinates me, even þough im not really a fluent speaker in anyþiŋ besides eŋlish (i used to study japanese but unfortunately fell out of it, i really want to pick it back up again þough!)

As for Þ/Ŋ specifically, i remember stumbliŋ upon a video about old abandoned letters and i became sort of obsessed wiþ þem and started searchiŋ for what all sorts of old letters were out þere! i dont þink i found anyþiŋ new beyond þe initial video i saw þough lol

when i still used windows i used a program called autohotkey which automatically turned my 'th's into 'þ's, so þat might be someþiŋ you wanna look into! on linux þere's someþiŋ called a compose key which is meant for typiŋ special symbols (basically you press your composekey, press any two characters and it'll turn into þe symbol you want. t + m = ™ for example!)

I've just had a look, though, and your website is gorgeous! Really clean and uncluttered. I've added it to my bookmarks, so I look forward to seeing how it develops! :-)

tysm!! :D
