Hi, I'm Dibs. I think buildings are cool my agenda in life is to help brute force the UK comics industry into action, but for now I need to finish the comic I'm writing...  :ozwomp: My personal site is for fun, but once I'm more fluent in the advanced stuff I'd like to make a website for my comics' extra information (though I would host them themselves on comicfury).
Here's my character Aiden, she can time travel... with a catch:

I'm also an astrophysics student with zero organisation so expect me to ask about your notetaking methods (with no ulterior motive) sometime soon!

Welcome to MelonLand! I know you didn't ask yet, but I'm a fan of the CherryTree note-taking application. I use it for all of my work notes. At home I typically write everything with a fountain pen and later distill it and transfer to electronic notes.

Oooh, very interesting. My method for uni is currently 'desperately write everything on the slides and then only ever revisit the slides themselves' which is not at all optimal. Using shorter notes and transfering them to an app is probably a good shout! I've never heard of CherryTree either; it looks quite technical but that often leads to quite a powerful tool in the right hands!

Very true, if you can write shorthand you might retain the information while writing but also be able to store the notes electronically for later search and retrieval.

Personally, I don't find CherryTree to be any more difficult to use then some of the other big note-taking apps out there such as Obsidian, OneNote, etc. The main downside to CherryTree is that it doesn't use Markdown and there's no mobile app. I mainly use it because I like the unlimited hierarchical notes and everything (including attachments) is stored in a single file that you can easily move around and backup.
