@rnottelovesowls Alexander Panos!!! I love that album so much
I have a 400-track-long playlist for this topic, snobbishly titled
Music You Haven't Heard, (which I will be going through and grabbing new picks for from this thread hehe) but if I had to pick a handful of tracks to specifically spotlight:
Abby Holliday is a singer-songwriter type who mixes the expected sound with what's been called 'industrial' electronic elements. Difficult to describe... her newest album, '
CRACK A SMILE COME ON STAY A WHILE', is a MASTERPIECE. It's so hard to pick a favorite track, so here's two...
Abby Holliday - Couch Comrade
Abby Holliday - Immortal
Steam Powered Giraffe is probably very likely known to many people here, the robot mime band with the hats and that one song on the beach. What you might not know is they recently put out their two best songs ever:
Steam Powered Giraffe - The Steam Rises
Steam Powered Giraffe - Moon River
Thank You Scientist is a prog rock band that recently pulled a Van Halen- that is, I don't really know what their new frontman is doing but he seems to have a very different opinion on the best way to pronounce words than everyone else does. So you won't get to hear this fantastic unique voice live, but it's stellar on the album:
Thank You Scientist - FXMLDR
Thank You Scientist - Son of a Serpent
OH AND HOW DID I POST THIS AT FIRST WITHOUT INCLUDING
BROTHER BIRD!!! us Carolines gotta stick together. She opened for Abby Holliday, very similar but no electronic.
Brother Bird - I'm Sorry
Brother Bird - Something Better
And here's a few grab bag songs I think need more views:
The Toxhards - October
Carrie Elkin - Absolute Lithops Effect
Jamaica Moana - TUGGAWAR
Khatumu - Matador
Ian McConnell - Mechanic
Nick Lutsko - Look at This Love
