I wanted to share this very cool blogpost I found some time ago. It's a paper by a Microsoft employee explaining the process of coming up with the Windows 95 user interface. Considering how influential that UI turned out being, with few design changes from that original idea in operating systems even today, seeing how it was done is fascinating.
