I can tell I'm getting impatient about my next piercing because I keep catching myself thinking or talking about piercing-related things without realizing. I need to wait to get anything else to save money, and I just stretched my septum (8G) a month ago so I'm still making progress.

I've had a basic concept for my dream setup for a few years that I occasionally update when I discover new piercings/jewelry/ideas. Since the list got so long, I decided to draw it all in one place so I have a visual reference. It's still unfinished since almost everything written down is a facial piercing, and I have no ear ideas besides currently gauging and maybe doing something with a coinslot if I ever get so lucky.

I enjoy talking and hearing about piercings and body mods, since they are one of my favorite forms of self expression. I have a few friends who have piercings, but only one of them has setup plans to discuss in detail with me. I'm sure some other people on MelonLand also enjoy piercings.

Do you have a dream setup? Favorite piercings you have/want to get? Jewelry preferences? For example, on myself I prefer spikes, studs, and points. I like my lip jewelry to resemble fangs. I like bigger/chunkier jewelry and thick septum rings. But I also admire setups with lots of dainty, complex, and colorful jewelry.

I will attach my drawing of my dream facial piercing setup, and transcribe the words (with some minor details added) in case they are too small.

DREAM SETUP 1.5.26

Half gold/bronze/etc half silver vs full silver + red gem medusa?
(Would probably do red gem medusa in both versions)

  • No set ear concept (besides currently gauging)
  • Eyebrows (considering)
  • Bridge
  • Nostrils (1/2 done)
  • Crescent moon nose chain
  • Septum stack (partially done)
  • Medusa (red gem)
  • Angel bites
  • Dahlia bites (rings or studs, leaning toward rings into mouth after healing but drew as studs)
  • Snake bites (done)
  • Vertical labret

Septum stack
  • ??? gauge (leaning toward 16G)
  • 8 gauge (done)

8G/3mm + 14G/1.6mm = 4.6mm --> 6G/4mm goal

Other dream mods include silver canine fang tooth caps, a split tongue, coinslots, a lot of tattoo plans, and medically gender-affirming surgeries.

i'm so happy to see this thread!!! despite the fearmongering from many an adult in my life, i've always thought piercings and body modification in general is so cool! we only get one body in our lives, so we might as well make it feel lived-in, right?

i love customizing every item i own, so i might be biased. i put stickers all over my devices + journals/sketchbooks, i love annotating books and highlighting passages, i cover my clothes and bags with patches and pins, i draw on my shoes... i see body modification as the zenith of that, since our bodies are the vessels from which we experience life. and yes, many forms of body modification are irreversible, but many aspects of life are irreversible too. we all age and return to the dirt we came from eventually, so why cut off an avenue of self-expression?

i never understood why piercings are considered unprofessional in our current day and age either. i can only assume due to their association with rebellious/alternative ways of living that go against conservative workplace values, but at the end of the day it's just metal so i don't see the big deal... no one thinks jewelry is unprofessional, but it's suddenly bad when it's IN my body??? xD

ANYWAYS lol! i started my piercing journey a couple years back and i now have 4 in total :-) i do have a list of future piercings i'd love to get...

Spoiler
have:
- septum (currently at 10g, just stretched it yesterday - my goal is 8g!)
- snakebites
- lobes
- navel

want:
- eyebrows
- nipples (need to wait for top surgery to heal first)
- bridge

considering:
- angel bites
- tongue (ow)
[close]

as far as studs go, i usually go for the plain balls but i love how spiked ones look! if i ever get angel bites that'd be the one exception since i also love when they look like fangs. it's very gender.  :ozwomp:

SAME, I have an endless list of projects and things to customize in my apartment. My current project is embroidering my butchfriend's overalls. I am slowly stickerbombing my laptop, bedframe, and paintbrush jar. I'd be interested to see some of your art and custom stuff :)

- septum (currently at 10g, just stretched it yesterday - my goal is 8g!)

I never really had trouble or pain stretching up to 10g, so I felt very confident to go to 8g, and it felt like getting punched in the face. Of course, I'm still going to stretch it again (by halves)... I hope your stretches go well!

i have my septum stretched to 8g right now too !! i got it pierced freshman year and started stretching literally the moment it fully healed. my goal is to get to 6g or maybe even 4g if im ballsy enough, but i think i may have blown out or irritated it at some point this year and i should probably get it checked by a piercer. i got an eyebrow piercing for i think my 16th birthday that was actually healing pretty well, but i took it out after i think like 4 months to change the jewelry and nothing ever went back in...15-16 yr old me was like a walking lesson in what NOT to do with a new piercing :drat: i did surprisingly well with my septum tho, i havent had any issues with it except for some minor irritation recently.

my piercing wishlist as of 3/8/26 is:

  • bridge
  • stretch both lobes to 0g, i sort of messed that one up too. do not stretch ur piercings if ur a wildly uninformed and taper-happy 15 yr old heh
  • dahlias! my best friend has them too, she used to go by the name dahlia as well haha
  • both nostrils so i can have one of those little chains going over my nose  :ok:
  • both eyebrows
  • snake bites + angel bites, i think mouth piercing are so cute and pretty and there r a bunch that i want but the healing process sounds like a slight downside

my sister used to have a tongue piercing and i was so jealous when i was younger!!! i would love to have one but i worry that personally id find it uncomfortable and take it out after a while..they always look really cool in concept tho

this is a lovely topic piercings and body mods are so interesting and fun!!! :4u:

I had just recently gotten my first piercings on my earlobes! It's a somehow sudden decision, I never cared about piercings, but suddenly I do. Now I can wear pretty gems on my ears~

I don't really plan on having more than two pairs of piercings on each earlobe, I think having one pretty earring paired with a smaller but shiny earring would look good on me.

A lot of people seems to get ear piercings quite early on, perhaps during secondary school. I didn't care much about piercings, like I mentioned, but I also thought I can't get piercings due to my short earlobes. My parents often pinched my earlobes in the hopes that they would get longer, it didn't tho, and because of that I just assumed my earlobes are too short for this. This idea becomes kinda dumb now that I think of it.

I somewhat surprised I had the idea to get piercings in the first place, I'm often too lazy to do make up or wear pretty accessories, perhaps the idea of trying out something new on my body seems exciting? Does that mean I'd even get a tattoo in the future? I don't know :P

as someone with snake bites, i can attest to the healing being a bit of a doozy LOL. the good thing is that lip piercings tend to heal fast compared to other piercings so you don't have to endure it for too long! the weirdest thing was getting used to eating with them in, the night i got pierced i could only eat soup xD

Oh boy, piercers love interesting ear anatomy! If you go to a good, reputable piercer, anything is possible!!

I have ~12 ear holes and I am scared to get my helix done. The healing process for ear piercings are so annoying, I don't want to go through it again  i swagged out too hard

This is why I love my helix piercings and nose stud. I haven't swapped them out since they were done, they're just a permanent feature I don't worry about. I got my lobes pierced when I was around 13 and I never wear them because they require actual attention. They were also done with a piercing gun in Claire's... so that might explain why they never seemed to heal over. :drat:

yeah i originally started stretching mine with an acrylic taper kit from amazon... went about as well as youd expect.

i've always thought dahlias were so pretty. that setup sounds awesome :)

i didn't have a terrible time healing my snakebites, i think it was worth it for sure in my opinion. definitely don't wait to downsize your bars though.
