Let's Players on Melonland?

Hi, wondering if anyone else is a let's player (Video or text based) or long player on here? These formats feel like they've kind of been left behind in favour of streaming, which I think is really unfortunate! I still really appreciate this style of video and I really don't want to be a streamer, haha. A lot of people act like streams are just let's plays but better which is really unfortunate in my opinion because there is a lot I can say in defense of let's plays.

Some things:

No Fomo: you can't miss out on anything because it isn't live. The let's play will be there when you're ready.
Better longevity: Vods exist but a lot of streamers don't keep them, and watching a vod will never be the same experience as watching live, so that is lost.
Easier for people with poor internet/bandwidth to make: Especially text based let's plays, where you really only need the bare minimum, but even videos are so much easier to make than a stream if you have poor internet connection.
Editing: Have scuff that needs fixed? Edit it! You don't have to do everything live and risk looking awkward/losing people.
It's not a social activity: Yeah you can ignore a chat but you're generally expected not to, and that can be really draining and distracting when you're trying to play a game, especially if someone is acting out and it needs to be addressed.

And probably about a billion other things I didn't name. I really think let's plays, undeservedly, have been pushed to the wayside, especially in the Vtuber community. This is sad but I honestly feel quite alienated in the vtuber community because of how people act about it. I have a lot of horror stories about the way I've been treated that I won't go into here.

I figure if any place has some cool people who understand let's plays and might even have made some themselves, it would be here. Do you make let's plays? What kind? What about let's plays do you like? Let's show some love for them!

i have always wanted to be a let's player but don't have enough experience with recording and such to really do much, along with having an outdated PC that can't play games i want to play that are recent. i do miss let's plays a lot, i know a handful of people still do them but they definitely no longer dominate the ecosystem. i would love to figure out vtubing and recording one day to make some let's plays. probably nothing too interesting, just games near and dear to my heart. i'm so sorry people have been rude to you for preferring let's plays over streaming! :( streaming has its pros but it also has cons. i feel like a chat would make it very hard for me to immerse myself in a game, thus leading to unsatisfactory content. i don't understand how a preference for one form of content making over the other is worthy of being rude, but then again the internet is just very mean now in many aspects

Honestly the best way to get experience recording is to do it, although I know what you mean about it being harder with an outdated computer. I had that problem for a really long time, luckily I mostly play older games and indie games that don't take much to run, but I still had to get a sort of decent computer to do vtubing stuff, and even now it's starting to show its age, which worries me. I'm really committed to this hobby though so it gets fed a lot of money 

And yeah a lot of people are just... Weird about things online. Part of why I've been moving away from social media and going back to slower smaller places like forums and such.

While I do some times miss lets plays as there form a less corpate era of the internet in general. Some streams still managed to capture that feeling and some even upload there video on yt which makes them feel like a more "interactive" lets play.  I wont shill my own youtube uploads of my streams unless yall want that.

I think doing a text lets play is a really cool idea, and if I could figure out a way to write down my thoughts quickly and swithc back to the game (like how chat is bound to t and hitting enter instantly brings you back) wouuld be nice
