Has anyone been into mail art before, or want to try it out? I'd love to get a few addresses and start some "rings" and swap some fun stuff. There's no letter-writing unless you want to, just mailing art! Collage, scraps, drawings, prints, pages of stamps, stickers, WHATEVER! And having fun decorating the envelopes. Its wicked fun to open the mailbox and find a crazy decorated envelope full of a stranger's art. (Sometimes you even make friends and get their art on the regular!)

Here's some examples from my collection (given or received; addresses have been OK'd to be public):

You can also check out IUOMA, the International Union of Mail Artists and check out what everyone's up to all over the globe. There's a fun forum there too.

They also host this great page on "Some Thoughts About Mail Art," a delicious early web relic.

Stamps are cheap. It's a fun way to do something creative and get something back.

If you're interested, I'll mail anyone something who drops their address, or email me if you don't want it public.

I didn't know mail art was a thing but that sounds amazing! It kind of reminds me of my childhood. When I was a kid I liked making envelopes look like animals and sometimes I sent some to a friend of mine and put little objects and drawings made by me as a gift for her.
