hi everyone!!! 

i'm apricior, but feel free to give me a nickname if you want! when i was a teen, i used to be extremely active on forums, where i spent all my free time talking about books or roleplaying. ever since they closed, i've been missing and yearning for something that felt like that, so i'm Extremely happy to have found this place! honestly, just looking at the BBCode and emoticons is making me feel incredibly nostalgic

let me tell you a bit about myself! my main passions are anything related to languages i speak three fluently and i'm currently learning two more! i also have a degree in literature and linguistics, so i love anything related to that (especially gothic literature!!! my favorite classic novel is frankenstein and i did my end of degree dissertation on the house as a character and mother figure in shirley jackson's the haunting of hill house, so that's what my main vibe is).

i also loooove fiction podcasts. currently i'm obsessed with a dnd podcast called dungeons and daddies, through which i've met some of my closest friends. oh, and before i forget to mention it, i'm also a writer; lately it's been mostly dndads fanfic, but i have a bunch of original projects i'm working on as well

for the past couple of months, i've been getting into going back to how we used technology back in the 00s-early 10s, so i've also been learning how to code using html and css! i'm extremely new to this and not very good, but it's a fun hobby that i really enjoy!!

I too studied classic literature and took a specialized foreign languages high school due to my love of them! Though my career has veered to other routes later, the passion still remains and I can tell being a poliglot has been useful in plenty of occasions. What languages do you speak? :3

Oh that's so fun!! I speak English (obviously), Spanish and a local language fluently, and then I'm on my way to becoming fluent in Swedish and I recently started learning Hebrew  I took some French and German in high school as well, but I have an extremely basic level and I've forgotten most things. What about you? :]

@apricior my native language is italian, but I also speak english and french since childhood- as a lot of my close relatives are overseas- and perfected them in school along with spanish. Would love to know more than few terms and sentences in japanese but I hate how I have so little time to study nowadays x.x

Swedish is an intriguing language indeed, I've been faacinated by it for many years. Kudos on becoming fluent!

I know! Unfortunately, the language that I speak is small and specific enough to dox me, so I'm gonna avoid specifying which one it is

That's very cool!! Kudos to you too for learning so many languages :] honestly, I get you, I wish I had more time to properly study my target languages. Still, there's many things that you can do if you don't have time to sit down and learn, such as listening to music in Japanese! That helps more than it seems :3
