I'm eblu! 23, he/him. some of you might have seen me around. I cut my teeth on various forums in the early-mid 2010s back when I was a t(w)een, so if you happen to recognize me from Mario Party Legacy, Chao Island, or the Blockland Forums (ugh), then hi (and sorry lmao)! I've been pining for something a little less in your face all the time so having a forum to call home again sounded like a nice thing to do.

unlike a lot of people here my heart goes out to the flashier, interactive web of the mid-late 2000s, just before social media took over but after people truly got comfortable with the internet. sometimes I just want websites to be entire experiences, yknow? this means I tend to parade around a cleaner aesthetic than most of the people here, but don't worry, I love people getting weird with it. please get weird with it.

I've been kicking around various parts of the independent web for the past few years, although in true independent style I've been striking it out on my own. I have my own website (as well as an archived copy of my old neocities site from just over four years ago), and I'm a big advocate for the fediverse despite its many flaws and bluesky pretty much completely eclipsing it overnight. still sore about that one but sour grapes, can't win em all lol.

as for things that are not about the internet? I'm into video games, but not as much lately. my favorite is sonic adventure 2, I love the flowiness in it that hasn't really been captured since (except for mirror's edge I think? although that one keeps grinding to a halt with the whole shooting mechanic. bleh). I also really like bugs, not in the sense that I'm an entomologist but I just find them cute and silly. my identity is still a bit of a work in progress, I haven't been confident enough to really define myself much so I have a bit of catching up to do.

also, because I know this will come up eventually, my favorite pokémon is Scolipede (and what it evolves from). anyone who has spent more than five seconds around me already knows this so I figured I'd get that out of the way right now :P

I also do a bit of art! I have a bit uploaded on my site already, I might look into bringing all that over at some point. the bug that you see in my avatar is my sona Cobalt, he's an ant. big anxiety issues with him, be nice. I'm also a bit into graphic design! if my signature didn't give it away already of course. I love the vectorheart aesthetic, I'm attached to it in ways that might surprise you. I also program a fair bit but I don't think I have anything in a complete state under my belt. not counting my website of course, but I rushed it out the door because I felt myself losing steam and didn't want to sit on a redesign for another three and a half years. I'm looking into giving it the TLC that I promised it would have right now, actually!

I think that's everything? that's everything. I'll poke around a bit and see what I can contribute! or just lurk for a week and forget about it. hopefully the former lol

Ooooh Chao Island ! I was there for a (very very) short amount of time. Never seen you in particular but it brings a bit of memories that were forgotten, very nice !

Your website looks so sleek and cool, there's a bit of "Frutiger Aero" style-vibe, it's amazing. The icons of your old site are awesome, did you made them yourself or is it from somewhere else

I'm on mastodon as well, I like it so far despite its flaws but nothing's perfect I guess...

hehe thanks! those icons (as well as the ones on the new site) are completely original. in fact most of my website is original work! (all the fonts except for the display font on the current one aren't mine though.)

also yeah you probably missed me. I was only really active on CI between 2013-2014 and mostly stuck to the roleplaying board. you probably can't go back and check now because the admin went and set all of those old off-topic boards to private! although to be fair he wasn't really fond of people going off topic from what I can gather so the writing was on the wall.
