Hello :mark:

I'm currently writing an email to a digital penpal of mine who I consider a friend (theyre also a lurker on here so hello if you're reading this :ozwomp: )

I was just wondering, do you guys have any interesting ways you sign off emails to friends?

I've written 'Kind regards' and 'Sincerely' alot but those feel too formal and I really want to emphesise that i care about this person :unite:

if any one has more friendly or frankly more silly ways to sign off emails please feel free to share them here! I need some ideas haha

Kind-ish regards, (im just kidding)

I usually go with "Have a nice day", and/or "Greetings" :).
Everything more would seem too flowery for my taste and character, but "sincerly" or "best wishes" would also feel overly formal for me.

Iv always wanted to be the sort of person who could pull off a really dramatic signature like "Super LOVE" or "Sent with HANDS" or "Reply by noon, OR ELSE" (basically all dramatic signatures end in caps!)

But I usually just do a ~ and my name  :drat: For more formal emails "All the best"

I think if it's a friend you can have fun with it and try something new in each e-mail and make it into a sorta game. Maybe add an extra letter at the end and see if they follow you and then just keep doing that forever so its like Sincerelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (if you find a friend who does this, they are a keeper!)

weird? I've been pen pals with someone for over 4 months now and I've never thought about doing that. I always have just ended the conversation in a very formal way or I've just said something random there was this one time that I sent my friend a copy of fantastic Mr fox and I sent this video to sign off  and she thought that was sweet so if any of you want to do that then It might be a nice idea ≽^•⩊•^≼

I sent this video to sign off
I am 110% stealing this, that's epic-

I usually sign off depending on my mood, the weather, or in a way that ties into what I've written. I save the more formal sign-offs for early on in a relationship, but overall I like to change it up. Using the same sign-off over and over feels wrong to me.

Some favourites of mine:
  • Hope you're staying warm,
  • Cheers,
  • Warmly,
  • Barely surviving,
  • (If we're really close) With love,

I’ve been meaning to get around to getting another email address for personal correspondence, rather than mixing up my existent emails with academic notifications and signing up for accounts to places- but I did recently send an email to my older brother, which I signed off with “Lots of love, always” which isn’t too dissimilar to how I end text conversations with the guy (“love you lots).
