The best years of roblox

I know its kinda overdone nowadays to be like "old roblox better", but I genuinely feel that 2010-2016 were probably the perfect years for the site. I might just be biased cuz I started playing in the early 2010s, but looking back it just seemed to balanced.

The games had decent quality and were fun to play while still retaining that classic jank and style synonymous with the early days. Nowadays the quality is undeniably higher and more polished, but i feel the brand is starting to move away from that classic style the site is famous for.


The company was just beginning to grow, striking deals with Disney and other brands, but it isn't the soulless out of touch corporation it is nowadays and they still held community events that weren't just bland advertisements.

i guess older Roblox did feel better in many cases - but i think there's still some fun to be had with modern Roblox. sure it's not the same but nothing ever is the same.

i played Roblox technically since 2016 but only made an account by 2017, but i remembered lots of the bad things from that kinda timeframe. honestly i felt i only ever heard bad things since that's easiest to focus on, it's just human psychology :P
but there's some good things i think - Better Discovery actually makes searching for games tolerable now for example. and there's a billion other games that i liked too.

i do agree in some ways that 2010s Roblox was better, but it's more on the technical side with performance and things. i don't see much of a reason for it to have shaders now.
