As the subject header states, I can do a lot of typing when it comes to messages but not as good with title creation. To start off with, I'm Julie (use either she/he for me please) and I ended up joining the Melonland forums after some contemplation. I don't like to communicate a whole lot in real life and online either one so I'm trying to let myself loose and get known better. I currently been trying to do some art posting on socials such as Sheezy revival and Weasyl. Was formerly a user on DeviantArt prior to the downgrades that were AI loving muck... I had left there following some personal drama and added stress as a college student. Was chronically online as a youngster with the introduction to Neopets through the McDonalds Toys from back in the day. Even now, I still have that love for digital pets/creatures that is still going strong.
Some other things I get deep into aside from the digital creatures is I draw a lot of kemonomimi characters. Humans with animal ears and tail so to speak. I'm a big ol' dweeb at times and I sometimes tend to keep it hidden because of past experiences. Really like anthro characters as well. I do a lot of gaming and reading outside of the interwebs as well. Biggest book obsession at the moment is The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. Please go read those if you're wanting something vampire related but nothing along the lines of The Twilight Saga... I own a vast amount of stuffed animals and still want more because they're soft and fun to cuddle with.
Currently working on a site on Neocities as well as Nekoweb. Unsure how to do the Nekoweb half of it, but mostly trying to work on the NC offline before deploying it online. I've had it since about October of 2023 and haven't been able to add much to it because of lack of access to a PC. The idea of building your own corner of the internet was always so fascinating to me. Closest to that was the Pet Pages of Neopets, but I only dabbled in the HTML by way of copying and pasting codes from other users... I had considered doing a web comic but haven't got around to fruition yet. Recently had my first experience with AI scraping and haven't been able to muster up the strength to pull through and continue on. I do want to contribute my experiences to the pool of those on the Autism spectrum, but I do still fear that some of my experiences and views could be viewed in a negative light.
For me, I love to create as a way of self expression. Sometimes I do so to alleviate stress, other times it's just for fun. Sharing them online helps in a way that I could reach a wider audience that enjoys the same work I do - but would also expose it to those that might use it as AI machine learning and/or art theft... I do try to ignore the negative aspects and learn how to safeguard myself from such. The vast amount of information accessible nowadays is incredible as well. If nothing else, it does give me the drive to look at my local library and check out a book if I wanted even more information about the topic of my choosing. Website building in a way is the same as creating art and I hope to build up experiences as I curate my own space on the web.
As of now,
my "room" is bare bones but I have put something down to let people know I'm here. Alongside the two websites mentioned earlier, I also have
a Carrd Page I try to keep up to date as well as a Dreamwidth blog I write to when possible. I use DW because of the mobile access and being able to write emails to "Send" to the blog as a post is cool. Anyways, this night owl yakked long enough and needs to wrap her time up. I'll eventually get around to doing more work on my profile as well as the landing page. I'm okay with DM/emails, but I also delete those with just "hi" as the message body.
