Garry's Mod Wanderings

Garry's Mod is such a weird place. Even having over 10k hours    , I still feel like I've barely experienced any of it! It's such a diverse community, even though it feels so dead. I know its public perception is one of criticism, and rightfully so, as there are some awful servers and people, but the stories I have reflect a different side of the game, stories from years ago from servers now all but lost to time.

I wish I were around during the early days when stuff like HL2RP was still a super popular thing, and stuff like the Gmod Idiot Box was new and interesting. What a strange time it must have been, before Gmod became mostly sandbox and darkrp!

i got like 806 hours on garry's mod but despite that i've never really wandered around on online servers (mostly because it region locks you by default, so i was locked to boring russian rp servers)

one of the few times i've went onto an online server was with friends on a (i think) ironic family guy darkrp server, where my friends ended up trying to make meth in church while there was a hidden fighting club underneath the pedestal. it was fun until everyone got stuck being spawncamped at spawn

I'm not super familiar with DarkRP, never really got into it since it seemed far too complicated and every server was different in its mechanics. I stick mostly to vanilla-like sandbox servers and don't tend to wander from server to server. Cooking meth in a church sounds hilarious though!
