I've always seen online places as large rooms with people in them... Some have room capacity, while others are massive centers, parties, or something more institutionalized;  it all depends on the social network.

For personal websites, I usually imagine seeing the webmaster give a presentation.

Why can't people love me for who I am instead of the nineteen-year-old nymphomaniacal hottie college student I am on MySpace?

I see it as a house with infinite rooms and in some cases there's rooms within rooms (like Discord is a room in itself, a server is a room inside it, each channel in that server is a room inside that one. Same thing goes for forum threads, different pages on websites, or group chats). Search engines feel like "hallways", but a links page on someone's site feels more like portals. A weird thing I noticed is this one time when my friend's Discord got hacked and her server got deleted. She remade the server 1 to 1, but something about it felt like it was a different room. The same thing happened when I moved my site to another host, everything was the same, but it still felt different. I'm not sure why I don't see each website as its own house as that would make more sense than the room-within-a-room thing, but it's just where my mind goes to

i think, the internet looks like a planet of some sort.

Earth, with differing countries, differing landmasses and oceans etc - it kinda feels like continents are big social media, while islands are smaller (or even indie web).
forums are like taverns or town halls of some sort, while personal sites are like houses. albeit a personal site could be more like an island, the bigger it is the bigger the island itself is. while social media profiles/accounts may be houses, units, apartments etc in bigger cities.

space is filled with people coming to and from, and various other things out of our control happening. like meteorites hitting the earth's surface, or even back down at earth, volcanoes could erupt, signifying something massive has happened.
storms are like a wave of something, something really negative and overwhelming. natural disasters are forms of that.

forests would be a bit smaller and grasslands would be a bit widespread, and cities would be overpopulated - some cities with high tech but some with low-life as well. many capital cities are building on top of other, older buildings - while out in the wilderness, small towns and villages are still thriving, new ones appearing each day (like messagebooks, potentially forums, servers, IRC channels, Escargot, etc)
