hey fellow plushie makers  :ozwomp:  what kind of plushes do you prefer to make? for us, we usually make plushies from fandoms we like, but recently i've been itching to make more original design plushies because it just seems fun! and also, maybe make a plushie of an object one day, since we usually only make creatures and humanoids.

also, do you prefer to make your own patterns or use premade patterns? there's a sense of comfort in using a premade pattern and its much less frustrating, but there's no feeling like making your own pattern and seeing it work in the final product  :loved:  :loved:

I guess I mostly do animals/creatures? I haven't sewn too many plush so far though, I just have a creeper from minecraft, a felt frog, and a little blob animal guy. I've also made a hand/rod cat puppet, which I guess is somewhat similar to a plushie, and have a half made succulent puppet that's been a work in progress for a little while. I do want to make more plush, I've had some ideas floating around in my brain but right now my craft room is a massive wreck and that's gonna take a few days of cleaning before it's ready, probably. Unfortunately I've been busy and pretty overwhelmed by the idea so I've been procrastinating even though I really want to do some sewing, haha.

I prefer self drafting patterns in sewing in general because it's easier to make something that suits how my brain works and I can get overwhelmed by figuring out other people's patterns, but I do want to try to get more used to using other people's patterns. I think pattern reading can be an important skill to have, I just avoid it a lot, haha.  :innocent:

our craft corner is Always a wreck... i understand. (tenna deltarune's decapitated plushie head is taking up half of the desk...) it's interesting that you prefer self drafting patterns, we're still not great at it and the process of making prototypes is extremely frustrating to our brain, so it's nice that someone else in the world finds that self-drafting works well for them  :innocent: it's always worth it in the end though! we've never found reading other people's patterns too difficult, but we also haven't used any very complex ones  :ziped:  i hope you find the motivation to make your crafts soon!  :4u:

I've made some stuffies from crochet patterns! I've made a little ghost, a bear, two kitties, a frog and I'm working on a little bat keychain. I use the amigurumi pattern and since I have trouble with the counting of the rows I usually end up with wonky looking heads and bodies lol I need to take some pictures and upload them.  :dive:
