what do you use for logging games?

steam/gog history? personal journal? special websites?

i wanted to share a few sites for this:

backloggd - i use this myself. it looks cool, with mobile-friendly interface, very lightweight and quick, have lists, wishlists, reviews, journals...! so far i love this. they recently had an update: link on article (M*dium though...)

backloggery - didn't try this yet, but looks interesting!

also, share you logs if you have them  :4u:

mine is on backloggd :3

it's still in beta, but sonemic (the creators of rate your music) have been working on a video game discovery and logging equivalent called glitchwave!

i have a profile on there, but i don't really use it. most people i know who are into logging games use backloggd, though backloggery seems pretty cool!

I personally use Exophase, but that's mostly just for achievements. For my physical games, I've been using a big ol' spreadsheet to index them.

Exophase definitely has problems, mainly that it doesn't recognize newer games for a little while. But it keeps good track of games I actually play across all platforms.

The closest thing I have to a log publicly is my website's collection page. It's super in development right now, but I'm trying to get each page to look like the console each game is played on.

Used to do Backloggery when they used the older version, but I had created a new one over on the remade service and never done much after the transfer over...

I had tried giving Minimap a go but it seemed to be similar to the former. Plus, I had been using the current one for long enough to not be impressed enough to jump over.

Backloggd was the main one I used a long while and still like using. I do use Exophase for achievement tracking even though I can recall at least 3 or 4 games I've mastered to date. I really loved how much simpler Backloggd was in terms of UI.

I just use Exophase, I am really bad at keeping an actual list up-to-date, so having it auto populate is nice. Until I play something on a unsupported system ;)

because pretty much all games I own are on Steam , I suppose that's the only way I log my games. I've never really logged them, but I do log most other stuff (books, music, movies). I kind of hope I never feel the urge to log video games because I already spend a lot of my time on logging everything i do  :ohdear:

A combination of a spreadsheet and writing short reviews on my website. I do this for books and shows too. I'm trying to streamline this by putting the sheet itself on my website, so I don't have to fiddle around with formats a lot and can just write my thoughts down easily. Still trying to figure out what the best way to do this is.

I'm in that same position myself, fellow melonlander.  :ozwomp:

I had been using either Backloggd where I put my gaming logs on or Pillowfort since the tagging system they have works wonders. I just have to remember the exact tag that's used... I really haven't considered the website option myself because it would seem like a lot of work for me. But I also like to take the shorter routes when it comes to things like this... Mainly most of my reviews are just demos and such, but the idea of putting it on the website/PF page would ease up some space on Dreamwidth (current spot for them).

Not in response to the quoted post, but I know that I had read somewhere on here that they don't track the times played, which I don't do myself but Exophase does thankfully. But I still tend to flake out from that and don't record the hours played into a game since it seems like it doesn't impact anything much aside from the time spent into the game itself.
