I've just run into a web page that made me feel very old and nostalgic, it's about old DTP (desktop publishing) programs from the 1980s.

The two I remember most are the last two in the list - Timeworks Publisher that ran on GEM, a Windows-like interface, and Serif PagePlus that ran on Windows.

i’ve never even heard of any of these! those are kinda like modern-day word-processors from my understanding?

Not really, they're heavy duty design/layout programs used for making things like newssheets and multi-page documents like magazines and far easier to use than trying to do the same thing in a word processor. They're more like early versions of something like Canva.
