Hello melons.
These past two or so weeks, i've been drawing eratically on a jacket i own. I'm here to share my results and ask
for pictures or text stories of your own clothes customizations (or even flat-out home-made clothes if you're proud of them !).

Here's the jacket that now cost me the life of a pen and some textile but, no money spent.

Back when I was younger (and grunge was the hot thing), we'd take sharpies and scissors to our clothes frequently and make them into all sorts of things. One of my favorite books from that time is called Generation T, and has instructions for doing all sorts of custom stuff with t-shirts. I miss doing that, even though I prefer to look a little less scruffy these days. I always love customized clothing.

I already washed the part made with the orange fabric before putting them on and info i could find online says it should stay on the jacket.
It's made with alcohol felt tip pens and textile pens so i'm not too worried about washing at lower temperatures and even less rain !

For the cut up clothes, do people after the grunge period really bought those expansive cut up shirts and jeans or they did it themselves ?
I don't remember seeing someone buying one in store but if they kept it displayed, it probably sold somehow.

I think a lot of people actually did pay money for them, because I remember seeing them on sale all the time. I remember reading an article a while back about the factory workers who were paid to take razor blades to brand-name jeans to get that "look." Seems very silly when you think about it, but that's the way trends work. I did it the cheap way--by wearing mine out until they ripped. I had one particular pair of hip-huggers from the early 2000's that had patches all over them because I just added one every time they sprung a hole. My parents hated them so much, but they were my favorite pair

I'm entering a clothing madness, i bought some comfortable bland shirts and
proper pens to draw on them. It'll slowly map out in the following months.
This shirt took 3 days to make but it's not that heavily scribbled on.

These are so cool!! When I was in middle/high school I used to use fabric paint to customize shirts, although the fabric medium I used on my acrylic paints wasn't super great quality. I've been thinking about making my own clothes a lot recently, especially with something like block printing. This hand drawn style with textile pens looks co cool though!! You've got a really gorgeous drawing style too.

I love the soda can tabs on the sleeves omg, and the fabric(?) fringes on the bottom are so fun!!! You've also got so many cool patches and pins!

Looks very nice. How much do you stand out in public when you wear it ? I'd imagine that it attracts the eye easily. And how did the earlier
stages look when it wasn't as filled out ? The final work is stunning !


Working on something with colors and some paint. Obviously not finished as there is only most of the front and you can still see the sketch
lines.

I feel like it looks more striking than the earlier one. That's probably because i found some old textile paint and i can do true blacks
now.

I have finished the tee. Waiting one day for it to completely dry up and then ironing and watching as it could mess everything up if
something had gone wrong was tense in the moment, but it held up.
