When I go outside I see people selling their crafts and art and I've always been inspired to give them a platform where they can share their art, and so people can learn more about them, so a few days ago I finally did an interview with an artist I met at an art gallery, here is where you can read it: https://girlblogzone.neocities.org/Blog/posts/2025-06-13-Local-Artist-Interview:-Giulio-Monciatti

I wanna do more things like this with artists who work with lots of mediums like sculptures, music, jewelry making, yeah!!

It might be that what you need is not offered by the market (this happens: I have a hell of a time finding vegan sandals in my size for a few years now, basically only one model is available now).
Might it be an idea to modify earbuds so they fit your need? There are a few tutorials available online. Be careful with your ears, though.

@ThunderPerfectWitchcraft were you trying to reply to this thread:tongue:

As for the topic: This is a really nicely put together interview! However I'd add a hint of caution about the idea of thinking about your site as a "platform" particularly one intended to promote or advertise things (even if it's entirely altruistic!)

For a professional artist, its their job to make things and its their job to promote and "platform" what they make, thats not something small time web crafters should be doing for them for free. When it comes to jobs and business, artists should not work for free and neither should web crafters.

Thats verryy different from interviewing someone or making a page about their work simply because you enjoy the work and want to write about it. One is about what you enjoy and the other is advertising ~ just make sure that what you're doing is about what you enjoy, not about what you feel you should do. If what you enjoy helps promote someone you like then great! but promotion shouldn't really be the goal ^^

Oh god
Yes, I wanted to reply to the earbuds; but I've read this thread at the same evening, and somehow mixed them up.

I did enjoy reading the interview, and think that insights into arts and crafts are quite cool. Do you plan to go on with it?

About Melooons point: I don't think there is necessarily an dichotomy about advertisement and enjoying what you do - it is absolutely valid, and can be fun, to do "platforming" to establish a community or some kind of art movement - I attempted something similar with my blog - I wanted to give visibility and attention to non-commercial video games and their developers, and it was fun for quite some time - a few months ago, I started to struggle with it - currently, my blog is on hold. I think the important point is to be aware what you do, and be sure that you don't feel obliged to it even if you don't enjoy it :o.
