Well, it is explained on the first post of this topic (and I thank you for that)
But the question is, how do I get into Artfight? 
I make an account, and, is there something to do there when it's not Artfight season? What if you "attack" off-season? I'm concerned I'm not always available on July. Can I upload refs off-season or something?

You can upload refs of your characters during the offseason, but you can't attack anyone, since it's against the site rules. However, the mods put it on read mode until November, so until the site opens back up, I think it's best to wait until you can upload your characters there.

Hey, thank you for answering my questions here. I didn't know they close during the summer (after July). Are there any more rules or things I should be aware of as a beginner? And by the way, as a cartoon artist, does the site have any tools to help you browse characters related to your preferred artstyle/interests? I imagine it does, but if you know and want to tell me about it, go ahead. Again, thanks!

I think this is the first year that they have locked down the site, so no idea if this will become a yearly thing or if they just had something to clean up. As for searching, yep theres a tag search that lets you find new characters which is very useful (it shuffles the list so every time you search a tag it shows a different set of chars). One thing I also like doing is following people I like the artstyle of/their chars and looking through who they've attacked to find more cute chars :D
