Video is art too so I'll ask here

Does anyone here know any good and simple video editing tool?

Nothing fancy, all I wanted to do is to trim video(length) and crop video (dimension), but windows media editor just up and disappeared, and it had been so hard to find some tool to work with
I used to use after effects but that was for animating more than video editing
Currently I'm using clipchamp, which is good enough for trimming but I can't crop video exactly, the output size is for some reason fixed to some presets
Ezgif is my main go to for resizing/cropping but my upload speed is atrocious when the file is huge so I'm preferring for a tool that's not browser based

What video editing tool do you use for any purpose?

For really simple jobs like cutting the length of a video or re-cropping it, I tend to use Handbrake. It's principally designed to be a video transcoder, but it does a good job at these other tasks too.

For actual linear video editing, I use Kdenlive. It's got a bit of a learning curve but it'll do anything that any good studio software needs to.

Both tools are completely free, open-source, and work on virtually any platform.

Davinci isn't really a "simple" video editor but it's free and a industry standard. Pretty much an alternative to premier pro.

I also sometimes use ffmpeg for quick and dirty edits. It's very techy but if you're okay with learning the CLI commands it's pretty good for trimming and cropping videos, changing the resolution, quality, and file type.
