what would you say is an ideal life? i think its not having to work to live, which is exactly what i plan to do, as i will be living with my e-husband in a year and 4 months, he´ll maintain me. then i can do whatever i want when i want and having all the time of the world. i might try a sleep cycle where i am awake for 32 hours and sleep for 16, i stole this idea from terry a davis. i will be able to practice my hobbies without interruption, especially since ill be taking ritalin by then so i wont be having trouble focusing.

essentially, i want to do nothing for the rest of my life. i will be a NEET and it will be awesome, im very lucky to have the opportunity of being maintained by someone i love. i won at life i think, i just need to wait a bit for it. also i know the stigma associated with it but this will be a poly relationship, i will be living with a 3rd and possibly a 4th person, we will be 4 in total, i will be the only one not working, huge win!!!. i want a replacement family.

For a while I wanted not to have to work. I think now no one should have to work, but since then I was able to find work that was personally meaningful to me (my current job involves community service.) However, I work less hours than most people would due to physical disability. In my ideal world I would probably choose to do some kind of volunteer work that isn't painful for my body. Other than that, I'm fairly close to where I want to be right now, because my goals aren't very big. I have a partner and some friends and a cat, and I have time to do art and practice other skills, and enough money to pay rent/bills and have an occasional treat. The only big goal I have right now is to move to another city. The city I want to move to will have better public transit and more opportunities for me, and my best friend moved there after they graduated.

i work in a thrift store, repairing electronics

perks include getting to buy things dirt cheap (helps the circular economy too tbh)

sometimes it's tiring dependent on workloads - this can vary each week but

the pay is reasonable & affords me a few mini luxuries for myself

i'm quite happy with that life tbh <3

For my ideal life, I think I'd like to live somewhere foresty. Like in the Appalachia so I can fuck off into the woods and hunt for animal bones when I feel sad. I also dream of not working due to mental health issues and just simply being lazy, so I think I'd settle for an online/at home job that way I can still have a steady income. Through me doing online work, I think I'd have more time to help my community which would be nice.

Most of my dreams involve me collecting more stuff, so I'd like to have a cabinet specifically for all my taxidermy, wet specimens, tiger stuffed animals, etc.

I also would like to have a wife who is not weirded out by said taxidermy and wet specimens.

And finally, I'd like to have an entire room dedicated to my pet rats.

Your set up sounds pretty good, what are your hobbies that you would spend your days on? I'm curious

mainly coding, game development and art in a few mediums.

my ultimate goal is to make an operating system and a video game, i want to be the next terry a davis, with all that entails. of course ill also spend a lot of time rotting in bed and actually doing nothing, which should be expected of me.

My personal ideal life has always been living in any city/town that's active with life, culture and art, having a solid and sizable friend group, having an effective and meaningful place in my community, and having enough time and self-love to practice my artistic hobbies. A job could be factored into this dream life, I'm not totally against having one, but I'd prefer it to either be at home or slower paced.

I've made some progress on achieving the life I want. I'm no longer living with my parents and now have my own house. I've been able to do some things around town and meet some people, but I wouldn't exactly call it ideal. It's a very small place and still recovering from the effects of COVID to this day, so I wouldn't describe it as "active with life". I've made at least one friend my age, but that's still far from a friend group exactly. Regardless, I'm grateful for what I have right now, I guess. No matter what, it's still much better than where I lived before.

I already have work that I love and, since it’s a freelance, I haven’t bothered with early wake ups or 5 days a week work time. But still, I wish I had less work and more time to create stuff that I like. Having something that will guarantee basic income so I can do projects that I do not need to be profitable. Oh, and also a finance pillow for emergency
And the second is my own house. I'm tired of renting places so having my own home for me, my partner and pets would be awesome. We get a bit closer to this goal but still it’ll takes a few years at least

mmmm man for me the ideal life would be being in a place in life where i'm able to say yes to more things, and have more experiences. getting to places with the shabby public infrastructure where i live can be a challenge (not to mention a bit dangerous at night :skull: ) so a lot of the time im unable to engage in stuff i really want to. being able to help with more local events and participate more in the organizational part of my local scenes is something i aspire to. so basically where i'm at right now but with a stronger sense of community thats more accessible to me.

also minions, my ideal life style would require at least 2-3 personal minions that would help me do whatever i want  :dot:  LMAO

I really agree with this. Right now I'm saving up to move to a metropolis where my best friend lives. They are always telling me about their adventures and the museums and art. Wishing you luck getting someplace that feels like home.
