Chainsaw man thread

HELLO
if you've ever visited my website you could probably guess that im a pretty big chainsaw man fan! I've been trying to search for communities and webrings for it online for quite a bit now... (if anyone has any indieweb chainsaw man stuff for me to look at please lmk)

i just figured I'd start this thread talking about chainsaw man since im curious to see what people on here think of it (and if anyone here likes it to begin with.. )

I'd like to hear just about anything you have to say/think about chainsaw man! theories, characters, art, whatever :D hell feel free to use this thread to just talk about the new chapters every week if you rlly want

chainsaw man is fire i rly like it. i started with the anime and after that i went and read the manga from the beginning (only time i've done this with an anime) and read up until the end of part 1. part 2 was (and still is) coming out and since im not the biggest fan of reading manga that isnt fully out yet i stopped there.

some thoughts are:
i love the power system/universe and overall concepts the story tackles, it really grabbed me from the beginning and made me so curious and invested to find out more and more
favourite character is okay okay this is a hard one. i have a lot of characters i like. only from watching the anime, himeno was my favourite character and i loved her and aki's relationship a lot. though aki is also my favourite character from only watching the anime. now expanding onto the manga, aki is still one of my favourites, but the one that always pops up in my mind every time i think about chainsaw man is reze. the way she was introduced and her arc executed was so intense and just pulled me in and never let me go. i rly liked the part 1's last arc, but reze's one still kinda tops it for me. also MAKIMA T-T also one of my favourites for sure.
i thought the anime was rly good when i watched it (and the animation was fantastic) but after reading all of part 1 i do think it under-representated the story because the first arc is the weakest (even though it's really good already). i would have preferred if they had done a 24 episode season instead of the 12 episodes. though im pretty excited for the reze movie.

also that chapter with asa and denji, you know, that chapter, is kinda the only thing i know about part 2

also writing this reply and going through my gallery on my phone has reminded me of how much i actually liked this manga and how i should probably read part 2 tbh..

I actually read the manga before the anime came out! the anime is excellent from what I've seen, but (and i hope i dont sound like a hyper nerd here) i simply enjoy the more rough artstyle of the manga more, so whenever i wanna revisit i always go for that haha!

people are down tremendous for reze... the one I like the most has to be the denji himself, OR power. If we're not talking about the main cast though, then Beam is my favourite! he's so stupid.

I've been reading week to week since i finished part 1 and got caught up! To be honest i think this story might be better when consumed when its parts are done! I enjoy reading week to week but sometimes when nothing really happens for that week i do get kinda disappointed.

chainsawman is special to me, denji is an insanely well written and real character. His ambitions may seem stupid, but i love how humble he is, how down to earth, he really is a teenager through and through. He also has in my opinion one of the worst lifes (childhood trauma, etc) and he still manages to not cry about it. I love denji!

Also the snowball scene made me cry like a bitch.

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 231!!

im still on the edge of my seat from that last chapter. the whole discourse online has me worried but i have a shred of hope left that fujimoto will clutch up! my only doubts stem from the fact that i genuinely dont see where the story goes from here. like what possibly could occur in the next chapter that will either end the series satisfyingly or even start the hypothetical-potential-theory-maybe part 3.

at least with part 1 and 2, denji could just keep on living on??? with pochita basically "resetting" the universe by creating a timeline in which he doesnt exist nothing in part 1 and 2 happen right?? even if the people who died came back, denji will never meet them. did any of it even matter?? will asa even remember any of it? makima remembered abt the erased stuff bcs she was one of the 4 horsemen right, so maybe there is something there?

Like, I don't even know what else to say apart from that was really bad. It's so sad seeing a series you loved so dearly for so long get slapped with a horrid, horrid ending.
