I don't particularly think we need rules 4 the indie web, or even 4 the web in general... but also it's pretty fun 2 write down these Not-Really-Serious rules 4 life and the web. Less of rules, more like... suggestions! I dunno, hahaha.

To whomever wrote rule 9, thank you, I needed to be reminded of that. It's so easy to overthink and be stuck trying to make a "perfect" page on the first try. These "rules" are just for fun, but a lot of them are very helpful reminders.

My rule: save often and keep backups.

mostly since in nekoweb i cant really use git since its a supporter feature and im too broke to pay for it T^T aaaaaaaahhhh

Disagree on hotlinking. Hotlinking steals bandwidth from other website hosts/servers. As far as I know, it doesn't matter on Neocities, but do not hotlink on sites outside of it.

Backups are very, very important. I suggest having at least 2. Especially if you're redoing a part of your site.
