For like a year and a half now, I've been working on this godot project in my spare time... and I don't have a lot to show for it, but them's the breaks. It's pretty much TCG Card Shop Simulator, if you're familiar with that game, but inspired by Love Live rather than Pokemon- I wanted to learn godot and make a home for my silly high school anime OCs, and this seemed like a fun way to accomplish both. The goal is to publish it in some form this November for their tenth anniversary :D
Here's the most recent gameplay footage, although there's been a few innovations since then:
Current game features:
- Use a pretty jank system to organize shelves in your store.
- Buy stock, put it on the shelves, sell it to scary gray cylinder people.
- Configure the store radio to play ingame stock music or music files from your computer.
- Use all my dev tool cheat buttons to your heart's content.
- Take out a loan for no reason.
My long-term plans include a system to open card packs and collect the cards (duh) and to build a funny little town you can wander around in the store's off hours, but I want to get my to-do list of essential Running Your Store features finished first, which includes fully fleshing out the customers, fixing how terrible the furniture system is somehow, and actually building a building to stand in... There's a ways to go, but maybe it'll be ready for Early Access by fall? lmao
If you want to try it, it's uploaded at
https://chantolove.itch.io/sunshore-trading-cards. The password for the page is 'gaming' because I made it in ten minutes to show a friend, lol. The last new build is from Marchish? And I haven't got any feedback on it, so I haven't been able to fix any bugs other than what I organically discover haha. if you try it and it breaks lmk
