Finally made a gallery

After a few hours of beating my head against my desk learning all about how this gallery template is structured, I've finally finished setting up my site's gallery. This will act as a holder for all of my favorite film photos alongside my Flickr, which I will keep as an easy place to point to whenever the topic comes up. The next goal is to start tagging things more seriously. Right now its only split by year and color/black and white, but I think it'll be good for me to start tagging by topic or by project.

Do any of you have galleries on your site? How do you choose to categorize things when there isn't a software doing it for you? I am very new to web dev and I've been surprised at just how many decisions I need to make any time I have an update.

Heya! Congrats on implementing your gallery! I love the smooth transitions and tag filtering tools. Very sleek!

As with most of my site, my gallery is made to be pretty skeumorphic, so categorization is entirely theme-based, and then within categories, they're sorted by date(ascending). Because I just add them in the order I make them! That being said, my gallery is for my illustrations, not photographs, generally, so maybe for photographs it's a bit more focus on dating? I have a camera, but I don't do photography much anymore :)
