I was kinda having an existential crisis while at the same time thinking of a girl that I used to date until she moved to another country...

For notes when it comes to making games, I tend to stick to using Obsidian. It's cross platform and plays very well with Git so I can use it seamlessly when I gotta transition from my desktop to my laptop. Outside of gamedev, I use Joplin. The UI and how it's laid out just activates my neurons more. I'd probably use it for game dev, but I haven't tested how well it works on git and unfortunately on Windows I can't install it outside of the C: Drive which is inconvenient enough to matter for me till I eventually transition my desktop to Linux. That aside, I sometimes keep story snippets in there for editing.

I pull the trigger. I can feel the internal hammer swing and ignite the primer and the cartridge inside. The muzzle flash and then the firearm pushing back in my hands as the slide does, cycling out the spent round. 11 rounds left.

Time comes back to normal as the cow stumbles and crashes into Tyra and sending the three of us into a heap onto the ground.

“I give, I give!” Houri lets out. I watch her bring herself back up and cast [Dia] and herself, healing the shoulder would where the bullet had struck. She then extends a hand out to me. I take her hand and she easily helps me up.

i often use Notally and Markor for android (with sync through the cloud, because it's .md files). also just .txt files written in Notepad on my PC (also with sync). i've tried Notesnook and Obsidian, but they're too complex, lol.
once in a while i add everything in Turtl for archival reason. kinda back-up for back-up.

update! i still use Notally... or, rather, its fork - NotallyX. still happy with it!

for more "text editor"-like experience i switched to HelixNotes, and my AuDHD brain likes it so far.
my problem with Obsidian (and the like) was overengineering - often i was too overwhelmed. Helix seems to keep a balance for me. it has tags, full text search, folders/subfolders and some optional nice extended Markdown. not too much, but also i don't feel limited. AND it's portable - basically just a bunch of .md files, so that i can use my cloud thing to sync between laptop and my phone. locked-up apps make me anxious, really.

the most important thing for me here is IT OPENS QUICKLY AND WORKS FAST. because every second of me waiting for writing app to open...... is a pure agony  (AuDHD thing, i guess?).

Honestly very funny to see this thread pop up, I had recently taken a screenshot to showcase that I write HTML in my notes app.

Really wish I was one of those quirky people who write down midnight thoughts and anything funny that immediately comes to mind, but I'm not that interesting. Alas, all I have is the name of my new doctor, my sister's sandwich order, and a long list of notes taken for a food handler's course.
