I also just switched to Waterfox after hearing about Mozilla's new CEO's plans to make Firefox into a "modern AI browser"... whatever that means.

i actually use opera gx ! i know its not the best (cough advertising cough) but it does have webkit support unlike firefox and it has a lot of nice customization settings so i like it. there are also built in controls to restrict its gpu/cpu/ram usage which is kind of nice tbh...

I stopped using ARC recently and switched to Vivaldi. I loved ARC and wanted to try Zen, but didn't want to switch to the Firefox build. I do like Vivaldi, but ARC was one of the best browsers I've used and it BUMS ME OUT

i use firefox, both on PC and mobile! while mozilla corp has definitely made some bad decisions in the past couple years (why they'd throw in ai chatbot integration when most of their users are privacy-minded is still beyond me LOL) neither chrome or opera have been as reliable, lightweight and responsive on my low end devices as firefox has been - which is really huge as someone who tries to replace their electronics as little as possible. besides, being able to send tabs to and from either platform makes keeping track of things a lot easier.

I would switch to firefox or brave for the adblock but im sooooo used to safari's UI that i just cant bring myself to adjust to a new one....I wonder if theres some kind of elitism between browsers, sort of how arch linux users are soooo proud of themselves

if i was gonna guess, i'd say browser elitism is more spread out & isn't claimed by a specific browser. even then it isn't as bad as with operating systems, but it's still there. i have seen a few people judge others for what browser they use in terms of privacy, mostly it's people talking about whether chromium forks or firefox & its forks are better. like for example, in the privacy guides forum, i used to see some people say firefox & forks based on it weren't "secure enough" because chromium has "better security" with the idea being that privacy guides should only recommend brave. meanwhile fans of firefox & its forks argue that it is more lightweight, challenges the dominance of chromium browsers, and/or that chromium browsers probably still sell your data to google due to the code it's based on
