I've been getting addicted to Minecraft recently so it is nice to come across this forum thread. As much as I enjoy modern Minecraft, I think playing on this older version would be a nice change of pace. Don't be surprised if I join :)

I already got a bunch of gear and it's going great. I forgot how hard the older versions were I found a skeleton dungeon right next to the nether portal that we can use as an XP farm (and I made it my temporary house for a lil bit).

How do I use commands for setting my house and locking chests? I searched the wiki and couldn't find any info on that, unless I missed something.

Also I'm totally down for an end raid! We should schedule a time to do that. Did we find the portal yet?

Other than that, it'd be fun to play with someone else cuz I feel lonely! I'd say my best times to play is after 7pm EST most days. Let me know if you'd like to join up someday.

I've been away from the server (and the forum...) for a while, but I'm down to come back. The reason everyone including myself isn't on often seems to be that people aren't on the server often. Maybe we can choose a time and/or day of the week where we all try to get on together for a bit...? To reply to the previous poster, I would most likely be on from 5pm onwards for a couple hours so we might see each other.

Agreed ^^ I think we are all busy, so it's hard to hop on and hope someone joins randomly! We should setup a weekly meetup!

Anyone still playing? I'm finding my way, I'm enjoying all the cool stuff people have built! I'll see if I can find a nice spot for Laputa!

I took a long break from the server because I got really discouraged. I intend on coming back and maybe trying to properly construct a town, something I have been doing on a 1.7.3 Beta server for the last few weeks. I started on a church in the snow biome about a month ago but just stopped one day because I didn't really feel that encouraged, I think part of it was the fact no one was really playing. If you guys want to like have events or something then I will totally show my face there, the most fun I had on the server is when I got to interact with other players to be honest.

I can make a server, but I can't make people play it  I think if you want people to play with, it falls up to you to make that happen! Invite friends, and make plans like the end raid Ice mentioned - in the words of Philip Banks from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air "I can open the door, but you have to walk through it" 

On that note - I'm gonna be moving the server over to offline mode and adding in-game passwords - some security issues have been brought to my attention, and some people are unable to purchase the game where they live. Stand by for an announcement about that!!

I've been thinking about the aether a lot recently xD maybe a silly idea but it was one of the first influential mods and i think it would be a fun addition to the old-school MC vibe we already have.

Or.. I'll just build an aether portal for no reason in the server as a joke

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Due to people HACVKING (dont worry no one really did anything mean, they just pointed out it was possible) the server now requires you to set an ingame password!!

When you login it will ask you to register! Do this using "/register <new pass>"
Then next time you login you can do "/login <pass>" - you can also ask it to remember your last login so you don't need to enter the pass again while on that IP address!

ITS VERY important to login and set a password ASAP, otherwise people can steal your stuff 

Do not forget your password, I WILL NOT reset it for you (well I will, but ill be annoyed)

Playing an older version of Minecraft made me realize how spoiled I am by features of the newer versions

Good thing the basics never change

However, playing the older versions is fun and challenging!

I THINK I might have an extra copy of the game I can attach to someones Microsoft account if they need one (Im not sure, but maybe I bought two copies back in alpha!) - I cant guarantee it will work; but if you are in need of a copy feel free to send me a PM!

unfortunately, you probably cant do anything with that copy, they just killed migration today
