Hi hi, the minecraft server is now restored and back online - we have a new password setting system that can be found here: https://forum.melonland.net/minecraft-login.php

Important notes:

• You no longer need to set your minecraft name on your forum profile
• You'll need to set your password on that link above before you can play!
• It will say you have no account if you don't set a password - this is fine, your stuff is still there, just set a password!
• You can also use that page to reset your password in the future!
• Your password is only used in-game so people cant pretend to be u!

ooh i didnt realize theres a minecraft server for this site, ive been looking for a server that runs on an older version to play on lately so im excited to play on it some

Oh My Glob! This really excites me, I've been playing Minecraft since it came out and I've been looking for a static server for a long while now - the fact there is one for this community makes me happy.

Definitely gonna check this out after work!

Just got In and played for a bit! Very nice server, Expect to see some sinister constructions deep in the desert soon....

Hopped on for a bit for the first time and ran off until I found a big lake a short hike away from where everyone seems to be building. I made a very small artificial island there and I'm slowly starting to build but getting resources is still tough since I literally just started lol.


If anyone feels like dropping by and saying hi feel free! I don't know how to make those map icons yet so I thought I'd include a little picture of where you could find my small build site. I've been enjoying running around exploring the small section of the map out here. I'm very likely going to make a small fishing hut as a house for now and expand it as I go. It's been fun so far, hope to actually catch people online at some point! ヾ(•ω•`)o

Tried joining the server and I got it up and running! Only problem is that all the signs are just black boxes so I can't read any text that isn't colored.  If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know!
(P.S. the community garden cocoa is permissions blocked so you can't harvest any...)

Try switching texture packs when you are in-game, sometimes that fixes things up for me    Otherwise it sounds like it might be a bug with java and your graphics, messing with them might help!

After hours of work, a long hiatus, and several more hours of work, I have finished what is perhaps my biggest Minecraft project ever.

This is the trans-oceanic railroad.


(I would show the Dynmap view of the railroad but it seems to be down  )

About a 10-minute trek across the ocean from the western point of the central continent to an inhabited island and an uninhabited island.
It is about a 4k meter distance.
Why?



because i felt like it.


My time on this server has probably been the most fun on Minecraft I've had in quite a while, so I hope old and new adventurers alike can enjoy this addition to Loka.

And thanks to @fragbait for helping me out with supplying me with more rails.

I'm not aware of any way to do this with a 1.5.2 Spigot based server, but if you have a link to deets I can look into it ~ otherwise no this server will never be modded in any complex way, I've done too many of those in the past and they are just never stable enough to last - I really want this server to stay online FOREVER

I tried quite a few times to join but my computer doesn't seem to want to run 1.5.2 at all. in another life, I would've loved to simply play minecraft with you...

However I'd need a LOT more details, like what you tried; what your computer is etc: I think most things are already covered in the trouble section on the wiki: https://wiki.melonland.net/minecraft#tips_and_troubleshooting

I'm afraid that even with that wiki page, my computer and I could not figure it out u_u . but it's okay. the day after I tried, a friend randomly messaged me and invited me to their server that runs on another version. I guess the universe wanted me to play minecraft regardless... kind of beautiful in a large-scale, cosmic way.

I just started on the Minecraft server a couple of days ago and finally stumbled across your railroad just now. Thank you for building this, I got a lot of use out of this and hope to eventually find a nice spot for my first house!
