I've come to the realization that my website is pretty boring. Sure it's better than a default Neocities page but I still feel like something is missing...

on the previous iteration of my site, i had a script that would show a random image from a folder of funny/weird pictures that my husband and i have collected together over our many Internet Years. that could be a fun addition! the larger the selection of images the better imo.

I really like your website layout as it currently is! I have a soft spot for clean and simple. Do you have any knowledge about some interesting topics? Maybe adding a page with useful and interesting information about something you're keen on would be a valuable addition!

gifs/animations always help make a website feel a little bit more alive i think even if it's just something subtle in the background like the rain on this forum. maybe that would help?

I can confirm this; my website has a similarly minimalist design as Iceologist's, and I feel like the subtle animated background helps spice it up a lot.
