I see them everywhere but I failed to find a place to actually get them aside from the ones people are already using on their sites. :ozwomp:

  • Making them yourself; it's easier than you think.
  • Finding them on others' pages; this is by far the easiest one, just go through link lists and gather badges on every site you visit like a little mushroom collector.
  • Using Gifcities and get lucky with certain search terms.
  • Finding blinkie collections or blinkie makers online; either sadgrl or yesterweb has one, as far as I know.

Edit: But yeah, there's blinkie catalogues, but they're not very well known as far as I know.

blinkies.cafe

This one is great it's my favorite blinkie site i've come across, the "freeze blinkies" option to stop them from playing is really appreciated  :loved:  :loved:

https://glitter-graphics.com/

HUGE collection of genuine vintage blinkies on this site. they have a ton of other graphics as well. since a lot of these are from the heyday of Myspace, some of them might have poorly-aged humor or ideas on them, but this site is a great resource.

It's kind of funny how many of these are really edgy or even aggressive :innocent:

haha whenever people talk about the 2000s web with rose-tinted glasses, as if it was a wholesome utopia just because it didn't have twitter, i'm always like "am i the only one who remembers how much of the web was populated by edgy tryhard teenagers back then..."

like, the culture and standards for Edginess were so different back then; 2000s edgy teens were on a whole different level than 2020s edgy teens. we were nasty!

Yeah, plus there were no laws like nowadays against things like revenge porn, so a lot of people in the early internet suffered from things like that that even made it to real life. I have memories from 2013 thinking "wow internet is so nasty, I hope it gets better" even though now someone might think back to 2013 as a "better time" compared to the current moment
